Robert Half Payroll Specialist in Atlanta, Georgia

Description We are in search of a meticulous Payroll Specialist to join our team in the security industry, based in Atlanta, Georgia. This job function includes managing all aspects of payroll processing for our company, ensuring efficiency and accuracy. This role offers a contract to hire employment opportunity.

Responsibilities:

• Analyze and review timesheets, wage computation, and other information to identify and rectify any payroll discrepancies

• Prepare and process periodic payroll for company staff, ensuring efficiency and completeness

• Interpret and apply federal, state, and local laws regarding payroll regulations, withholding taxes, and payroll deductions

• Maintain regular reports for record-keeping and compliance purposes, ensuring all payroll transactions are processed correctly and timely

• Reconcile payroll data and validate confirmed reports

• Resolve any payroll related inquiries or issues

• Coordinate with HR for changes affecting payroll, such as hiring, termination, benefits deductions, wage levy, and garnishments

• Process any requested payroll adjustments, corrections, or retroactive payments

• Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed

• Maintain confidentiality and security of employee information

Skills:

• Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems

• Experience with ADP - Financial Services

• Knowledge of Ceridian and IBM AS/400 systems

• Familiarity with Kronos Timekeeping System

• Understanding of 401k - RRSP Administration and About Time systems

• Familiarity with Accounting Functions

• Knowledge of Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Experience with Payroll Tax Reporting and Payroll Taxes

• Proficiency in Workday Requirements • Proficiency in using Accounting Software Systems

• Knowledge and experience in ADP - Financial Services

• Familiarity with Ceridian and IBM AS/400

• Experience with Kronos Timekeeping System

• Knowledge in 401k - RRSP Administration

• Familiarity with About Time software

• Ability to handle Accounting Functions

• Experience in managing Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Prior experience as a Payroll Specialist is advantageous

• Excellent communication and organizational skills

• Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to data protection laws

• Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred

• Relevant certification such as Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) is a plus.
