Responsibilities

SCA Health in Atlanta has an opportunity for an OR Nurse Manager (RN) with our outpatient surgery team. We have busy multi-specialty surgical teams performing orthopedics, spine, plastics, ENT, GYN, urology, general and interventional pain.

The Operating Room RN Manager will complete two weeks of leadership training off-site (travel expenses covered) prior to the first day on-site.

The OR Nurse Manager participates in the facility Core Leadership Team (CLT), Quality Council and drives continuous improvement with coordination of education and training for OR teammates.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage Sterile Processing Department

  • Manage OR Charge Nurse(s)

  • Ability to set priorities.

  • Ability to provide direction to others that is clear, concise and promotes efficiency throughout the clinical areas of the facility.

  • Ability to communicate well with patients, families, Teammates, physicians, other members of the healthcare team, etc.

  • Recognizes legal and policy limits of individual practice.

  • Clinical Quality

  • Assesses, plans, evaluates and ensures the implementation of the patient’s care to achieve identified outcomes and delivers safe patient care according to facility policy and procedure.

  • Assumes an active role in the provision of quality nursing care for patients receiving care.

  • Utilizes time effectively.

  • Adheres to established facility safety requirements and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.

  • Assists with housekeeping tasks as necessary to provide a safe environment for patient’s, teammates, physicians, and guests.

  • Performs all other duties as assigned by Director of Nursing/Administrator.

  • Demonstrates the safe operation of equipment and machinery and follows procedures for reporting and correcting an unsafe situation.*

  • Interacts with all patients, families, visitors, and fellow employees in a mature, responsible manner to ensure a positive and professional facility environment.

  • Fosters a positive and professional facility environment by interacting with all persons in a considerate, helpful and courteous manner and by participating as a team member.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing. MSN preferred.

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a multispecialty surgical service setting

  • Minimum of 1 year OR charge/supervisor/manager experience required.

  • Ability to circulate multiple specialties.

  • Current state licensure to practice

  • Successful completion of Basic Life Support (BLS)/Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS), ACLS, and PALS within 90 days of employment or documentation of current BLS/BCLS certification
