How you'll help us Keep Climbing (overview & key responsibilities)

  • The Lead AMT is responsible for the day-to-day operations in Dept. 284, the GE CF6 Assembly Shop, to ensure production and customer goals are achieved.

  • The job includes but is not limited to: entering time and attendance records, monitoring production, communicating daily expectations to crew, supervising shop production, provide training to shop personnel, maintaining cell metric boards, assisting shop personnel with repair processes, determining root cause for defects, giving performance evaluations, and completing assignments given by the Product Line Manager.

  • Develops strategic and tactical plans that create a safety-conscious environment resulting in employee safety and well-being.

  • Must practice safety conscious behaviors in all operational processes and procedures. Must have the ability to: act as the working leader of a Team, give work assignments, give work instructions, and supervise the work of the Team.

  • Must be capable of driving excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement. Must be able to respond flexibly to changing or multiple work demands.

  • Must be willing to support operational requirements when needed in a Line Maintenance environment to include out of town trips.

  • Must be able to read and write English and be able to comprehend and apply information contained in technical manuals. Must be willing to work rotating or fixed shifts including weekends. Must be performing satisfactorily in present position.

  • Must be performing satisfactorily in present position.

  • Must have the ability to work a flexible schedule, including rotating/fixed shifts, holidays and weekends.

  • Should meet the physical requirements which qualify a person to perform essential job functions, including the ability to lift at least 70 pounds.

  • Certain duties may require working in confined spaces for a periodic time.

  • Must be able to read and write at a level to enable him/her to comprehend and apply information contained in technical manuals, blueprints and wiring diagrams.

  • Must possess in-depth understanding of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic disciplines as they apply to aircraft systems.

  • Must be a leader, capable of pursuing the development of each assigned Aviation Maintenance Technician to their fullest potential.

  • Must have the ability to plan, lay out and direct Aviation Maintenance Technicians in the performance of their duties, as well as the ability to lead people in all circumstances involving the daily job requirements.

  • Must have an FAA Airframe and Power plant license.

  • Must be an AMT or higher classification.

  • Must be authorized to work in the US.

  • Must be able to pass an extensive background check, drug test and audiogram.

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.

  • Must have a valid driver's license.

  • High School Diploma, GED or High School Equivalency
