The Lead Advisor supports the day-to-day operations of the talent team by administering and ensuring compliance across occupational and non-occupational related leave of absence programs, return to work processes and accommodations.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee administration and serve as subject matter expert for accommodations, disability and leave management programs including, FMLA, ADA, Worker’s Compensation, state/local paid/unpaid leave offerings and company-paid leave programs, while ensuring consistency and compliance

  • Collaborate with Chick-fil-A Supply Leadership, Bay Center Leadership, and Chick-fil-A, Inc. to innovate processes, recommend system/technology enhancements or vendor changes, and streamline administration to enhance the employee experience

  • Implement and communicate changes to leave and accommodation policies coordinating execution with local Talent Leaders

  • Partner with Legal and local Talent Leaders to ensure legal compliance with all applicable federal and state requirements, and company policies and practices

  • Support the creation of scalable leave of absence solutions including system update rollouts and changes that enable ongoing efficiencies for growth within the distribution network

  • Partnership with Chick-fil-A, Inc. on review of payroll and timekeeping systems related to leave of absence

  • Document and maintain detailed written processes

  • Handle highly confidential and sensitive information in strict accordance with Chick-fil-A Supply and Bay Center Foods confidentiality and data security policies

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5+ years of HR Generalist experience, including at least 1 year in a distribution or manufacturing environment and at least 2 years managing leave and/or benefits

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • Working knowledge of multi-state benefit plans, state applicable leaves (including California), and ADA best practices

  • Proven experience in cross functional collaboration; partnering with multiple business departments with the ability to influence outcomes

  • Working knowledge of payroll administration and timekeeping systems

  • Experience partnering and managing relationships of Leave and Benefit third-party vendors.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of general HR policies, procedures, and practices

  • Ability to occasionally travel, including overnight trips

  • Preferred Qualifications

  • 7+ years of HR Generalist experience, including 2+ years in a distribution or manufacturing, and at least 3 years managing leave and/or benefits

  • Experience leading team of leave specialists or prior managerial expertise overseeing direct reports within an HR function or service

  • Working knowledge of safe work practices (OSHA, etc.) for all functions performed in a distribution facility

  • Excellent business communication and presentation skills

  • Excellent knowledge of the ADA Interactive process

  • Working knowledge of processing Worker’s Compensation claims

  • Ability to develop course materials and lead trainings related to disability, leaves, and accommodations

  • Project management experience

  • Excellent organizational and record-keeping skills, with the ability to manage multiple cases at once

  • Energetic and driven; high degree of self-motivation and discipline with a keen ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters appropriately

  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative, successfully handle and prioritize multiple competing assignments and effectively manage deadlines
