Duties and Responsibilities Design, development, and test of new software for automation of optical system measurements Development of software applications and features for automated testing in Optical Systems lab Write software code in Python to control lab equipment, including ADVA modules and external test equipment such as optical spectrum analyzers Utilize a variety of equipment interfaces including Ethernet, serial, and GPIB Create basic user interface for custom automation program to be used in Optical Systems lab Test functionality with relevant lab equipment along with Optical Systems team members Provide clearly defined code structure and ample comments so that the program may be easily updated and augmented by others in the future Write a document describing the program and present results at internal meetings Present project updates and results to team members and summer intern group

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience Required Undergraduate student in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science General coding skills; familiarity with Python is desirable but not required

Requirements and Work Environment Norcross, GA, USA (office environment, Photonics Lab) Able to work at desk most of the day and in the lab as needed Monday - Friday, 40-hour work week (flexible hybrid schedule as agreed with manager)
