LifeSouth Community Blood Centers is looking forImmunohematology Reference Lab Medical Technologiststo join our team inAtlanta, GA.

Available shifts are weekend evenings, Friday to Monday, 1pm - 11:30pm (we can be flexible with start times).We are currently looking for technologists to work four (4) 10-hour shifts.

About This Position

Resolve complex immunohematology and compatibility problems to provide the safest donor blood for the patients in our community. We focus on providing the best possible customer service. No on-call requirements.

Minimum Qualifications

  • National certification as MT/CLS/MLS with ASCP, AAB or AMT, including immunohematology

  • Bachelors degree in Clinical Laboratory, Chemical, or Biological Science

  • Familiarity with blood banking

  • Clinical laboratory training program or three years of pertinent clinical laboratory experience with a minimum of six months in the transfusion service or immunohematology reference lab

  • SBB(ASCP) or BB(ASCP) preferred

Responsibilities Include (but not limited to)

  • Follow established policies and procedures

  • Identify problems that may adversely affect test performance or reporting of test results and either correct the problems or immediately notify a supervisor, manager, or director

  • Document all corrective action taken when test systems deviate from the laboratorys established performance specifications

  • Exercise professional judgment in evaluation, specimen integrity, results accuracy and inter-result validity and take corrective action as necessary

Salary is based on relevant education and experience. Minimum starting salary range is $31.00 - $37.20 an hour. Shift differential applies to evening and overnight hours.
