job summary:

Generator Field Service Technician opportunity located in the Atlanta, GA area. This non-exempt home-based position will be responsible for performing troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair on commercial generators. A company truck, laptop, and cell phone will be provided. Overtime and Double-time pay are available. Commission potential available for quoted services and equipment sales. The company has an excellent training program with guaranteed training time every year. A solid benefits plan is available to include 401k, paid life insurance, and more.

responsibilities:

  • Perform preventative maintenance, inspection, and repairs on power generation units including diesel and natural gas, gas engines, and Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS) as scheduled

  • Troubleshoot Automatic Transfer Switches, engine/generator control, and excitation systems

  • Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, blueprints, schematics, and procedure manuals

  • Submit, promote, and complete general quotes and engineering quotes as needed for the customer base

  • Communicate with sales, operations, and customers regarding service and service contract coverage, pricing, terms and conditions, and applicable policies

  • Other duties as required

  • Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED is required

  • Approximately 3 or more years of experience in the power generation field working on commercial generators

  • Proficient in both mechanical and electrical applications and know troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair for diesel and natural gas generator sets with their associated fuel systems

  • Demonstrated and effective communication skills with internal and external customers

  • Willingness to travel up to 50%, mostly local but could include potential overnight stays

  • Must be willing to receive a Covid-19 vaccination
