Actalent Electrical Engineer in Atlanta, Georgia

Description:

The Senior Electrical Engineer to perform and oversee engineering designs of all types of electrical infrastructure and/or facilities for Federal government clients. As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will development of construction documents using AutoCAD. Designs may include facility design, working closely with other disciplines, or may be stand-alone electrical projects. As the Senior Electrical Engineer, you will help manage junior staff, including engineers and/or drafters. Projects may include travel, field measurements/data gathering, calculations and/or CAD/BIM designing by the engineer. It is preferred that the successful candidate have experience working with at least one of the following entities: Federal, state, and local governments.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Produces plans, reports, and specifications

  • Assists in preparation of cost estimates

  • Assists in preparation of inspection reports

  • Performs quality control and quality assurance

  • Performs calculations for design of lighting and electrical systems

  • Works closely with junior engineering and drafting staff

• As an electrical engineer subject matter expert, you will have responsibility for planning, developing, designing, and coordinating a broad range of electrical engineering activities.

Energy savings performance contracts (ESPCs) allow federal agencies to procure energy savings and facility improvements with no up-front capital costs or special appropriations from Congress. An ESPC is a partnership between an agency and an energy service company (ESCO).

Will be working on a team with RAs, engineers, construction inspectors doing cradle to grave project management. Very little of their job will be spent doing design, primary duties include processing submittals, RFIs, helping to cut delay time of construction projects.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, or similar from Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology accredited college or university

  • Ten (10) years’ experience

  • Licensed Professional Engineer or having passed the FE exam with ability to become licensed engineer within a year of hire preferred.

  • AutoCAD design experience

  • Capability of working on multiple projects simultaneously

  • Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems

  • Strong oral and written communication skills
