TK Elevator is seeking a Cyber Security Intern for our Summer 2024 internship program in Atlanta, GA.

The Cyber security intern will be responsible for assisting the BU Information Security Office (ISO) with functions related to the Security Software Initiatives, Incident Management / 3rd party risk, Security Project management, as well as maintaining the enterprise-wide Information Security programs.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Planning and implementing security measures to protect computer systems, networks, and data Information security interns are expected to stay up-to-date on the latest intelligence, including hackers' methodologies, to anticipate security breaches Responsible for preventing data loss and service interruptions by researching new technologies that will effectively protect a network. A Basic understanding of mainstream operating systems and a wide range of security technologies, such as network security appliances, anti-malware solutions, automated policy compliance tools, and desktop security tools is preferred Fundamental knowledge of network traffic alerts to assess, prioritize and differentiate between potential intrusion attempts and false alarms A Basic understanding of current cyber threats Assist with the key project(s) and other projects assigned Meet deadlines for project deliverables Recommend process improvements Gain valuable work experience and prepare for future career Other Day-to-day department responsibilities as assigned by the department manager

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE: Enrolled in an accredited college or university studying one of the following disciplines: Computer Science, Cyber / Information Security, or Computer Information systems. Knowledge of common Internet protocols, applications, and cyber threats Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) Possess a high level of self-motivation and excellent time management skills Possess effective communication skills Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain good working relationships and internal networks Possess outstanding data analytics mindset Possess solid written and oral communication skills essential for the role
