We are a National Health Service Corps site with the highest HPSA score; you can apply to NHSC which will provide assistance with student loans.

POSITION SUMMARY: Works closely and under the direction of a licensed provider. Performs basic patient assessment procedures including vital signs, infection disease control and universal precautions. Performs interpretation for clients and staff as applicable. Monitor and order medical supplies and materials under the guidance of the Nurse Practitioner and/or Clinic Manager. Performs EKG with the guidance of a licensed Medical Provider. Performs light administrative duties, such as copying and filing. Participates in health fairs or community events on weekends as requested 3-4 times a year. Provides patient care and/or support activities appropriate to ages served; primarily adults ages 18-65 or geriatric patients over age 65. May also include care for infant 0-1 year, child ages 1-12 years or adolescent ages 13-17 years.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: High School diploma required. Graduate of medical technical school preferred. CMA required. CPR certification required.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Six months to one-year previous experience in health-related area required. Experience in phlebotomy, conducting basic lab procedures, and client education is required. Foreign language may be required. Experience and knowledge of OSHA, HIPAA and CLIA guidelines.

JOB KNOWLEDGE: Proficiency in conducting basic patient assessment procedures including vital signs, infectious disease control and universal precautions. Proficiency in performing phlebotomy techniques and basic laboratory procedures. Must have compassionate attitude and good communication and listening skills. Computer knowledge is desirable. CDL may be required. A safe driving record and valid GA driver’s license required.
