General Summary:

Unum Group seeks Assistant Vice Presidents, Data and Analytics in Atlanta, GA.

The Assistant Vice President, Data and Analytics applies principles of mathematical and statistical modeling, systems engineering, and data analytics to the development, analysis and interpretation of data, develops analytical frameworks, and leads data analytics projects working with actuarial, finance and other internal/external business partners to help optimize business performance. Specific core duties and responsibilities include definition of data, analytics and systems engineering strategy, methodologies, and tools supporting product, technology, digital adoption, UX, and other data and analytics and systems engineering projects; defining, developing and implementing best practices in support of data analytics and systems engineering projects to drive consistency and standardization of data usage and analytics practices across the enterprise, including establishing digital/web analytics frameworks; overseeing construction of predictive models to explain and understand observed events, forecast expected behavior, or identify risk through scoring or clustering; collaborating with managers, subject matter experts, and others to translate business needs into a quantitative framework, identify available data, communicate findings and results, and define implementation strategies; understanding theory and application of current and emerging statistical and systems engineering methods and tools to drive and recommend continuous improvement opportunities; collaborating on data transformation, integration, and reporting with both technical and non-technical audiences; data profiling, data, analysis, data modeling, and evaluation of data sourcing; formulating and reformulating complex, flexible mathematical or simulation models of problems, relating constants and variables, restrictions, alternatives, conflicting objectives, and their numerical parameters; overseeing validation and testing of data models to ensure adequacy; and applying statistical, simulation and data mining methods to perform data analytics functions.

Will supervise 14 subordinates in the following positions: Director, Data Analytics, Data Analyst II, Digital Analytics Specialist, Digital IT Associate, Data Engineer II, Senior Business Intelligence Engineer, Data Engineer, Principal Software Engineer, Tagging Solutions Engineer, Principal Web Analytics Lead, College Intern.

Requires a Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Data Science, Industrial Engineering, or a related field plus 10 years of experience. Requires 10 years of experience with the following: Digital Web analytics, Data analytics for marketing, Portfolio management, Tag management, Web Analytics Enablement, and Product development in enterprise scale applications; Digital/data analytics platforms Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, Tealium Audience stream, Google Cloud Platform, Snowflake, and Tableau; Working on data clouds Amazon AWS, GCP Big Query; Leading digital analytics implementation, tag management and/or data integrations across the enterprise to drive value; Multi-channel and cross-channel data attribution for optimization; Creating and driving quantifiable metrics and KPIs to executive leadership team; Leverage consumer/client data to find quality customers for acquisition, engagement, retain and reactivation through different adoptions tactics; Working with UX teams in helping to understand user/product needs, validate the experience metrics, and provide deeper quantitative models to support design thinking and future revisions; Lead collaboration efforts with Enterprise data teams in orchestrating online data availability in near real-time for stitching with disparate offline data sources to drive value; Digital marketing technology CMS, CDP, DMP, Analytics and Personalization; Tag management platforms Google tag manager, Tealium tag manager, Ensighten and Adobe launch; A/B or Multivariant personalization methodologies.

Requires certificates in Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, Tableau, Tealium/Ensighten.

Telecommuting from home within normal commuting distance permitted up to 3 days/week.

The base salary range for applicants for this position is listed below. Unless actual salary is indicated above in the job description, actual pay will be based on skill, geographical location and experience.

$133,500.00-$261,000.00

Additionally, Unum offers a portfolio of benefits and rewards that are competitive and comprehensive including healthcare benefits (health, vision, dental), insurance benefits (short & long-term disability), performance-based incentive plans, paid time off, and a 401(k) retirement plan with an employer match up to 5% and an additional 4.5% contribution whether you contribute to the plan or not.
