Robert Half Assistant Controller - Growing Business!! (LUV) in Atlanta, Georgia

Description

Identify issues and resolve problems in this stimulating Assistant Controller position. This role would be best suited for candidates who consider themselves a self-starter. As the Assistant Controller, you will oversee the day to day of the accounting staff and send reports to the Controller. This permanent employment opportunity is based in the Atlanta, Georgia area. Your responsibilities

  • Well-developed preparation and coordination of fiscal year-end audits

  • Provide regular account reconciliation to completion

  • Approve implementation and verify adherence to accounting policies and procedures

  • Other duties as assigned

  • Direct the accounting team during the closing process to secure deadlines are met

  • Backfill for Controller as required

  • Review and establish Ad Hoc financial reports

  • Generate relevant and timely reports on financial data analytics like the monthly flash report, actual spend against budgets/outlook, and key financial metrics

  • Create accountability and the meeting of deliverables

  • Name and create process improvements to streamline reporting and improve team efficiency

  • Pitch in to the preparation of GAAP financial statements, including budgeting and forecasting

  • Arrange numerous policies, procedures, and technical accounting analyses

  • Advance to ensure a competent, trained staff through development, goal setting, and regular assessment

    Requirements

  • Ability to multitask and attention to detail are critical

  • CPA certification desired

  • Public Accounting Foundation or background Required!

    • Significant accounting experience, including as a Bookkeeper preferred

  • Month end closings experience

  • 7+ years of general ledger accounting experience

  • Ability to effectively interact, verbally and in writing

    • Comprehensive knowledge of enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems

  • Deep technical background in public accounting (GAAP)

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting

  • Top notch analytical, quantitative and social skills
