Ohio University Senior Financial Operations Analyst, College of Arts & Sciences in Athens, Ohio

Job Description:

The College of Arts and Sciences is currently accepting applications for a Senior Financial Operations Analyst in their Service Center.

The Senior Financial Operations Analyst is integral to the financial operations of the College of Arts and Sciences. This position plays a pivotal role collaborating with the Senior Director of Finance, executive leadership, and departments in the college to support multi-year budget planning and development, forecasting, comprehensive data analysis, and various finance-related functions within the college.

Budgeting, Forecasting, and Analysis (all funds, including general operating, designated, grants, and foundation funds):

  • Compiles data, analyses, and works with high-level stakeholders, including the Dean, Associate Deans, CFAO , and Senior Director of Finance to develop budgets. Creates financial reports, monitors budgets to actuals, identifies trends and variances, interprets data, prepares forecasts, presents findings and makes recommendations based on findings. Supports comprehensive multi-year budget planning and forecasts and intricate analytical models for expense projections.

  • Develops and maintain tools to effectively track staffing changes, vacancies, new hires, employment commitments, and part-time teaching needs.

Foundation Funds Management:

  • Collaborate with department chairs to develop strategic spending plans, forecast endowment expenditures, and monitor spending while ensuring accountability and adherence to financial plans.

  • Interprets donor gift agreements to allocate funds appropriately, provides policy and procedure guidance, and counsel to departments and college staff.

Financial Reporting:

  • Creates, generates, and compiles detailed, and complex financial reports tailored for college leadership, departments, and faculty.

  • Analyze current performance against historical data and budgetary.

Other Responsibilities – OGA , ICD , Internal Award Setup:

  • Take charge of approving OGA contracts at the college level.

  • Act as a backup approver for ICD and support Internal Award Setup as needed.

  • Contribute to special projects, team training, and overall development initiatives while fulfilling other assigned tasks.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 4 years of related work experience

  • A combination of education and experience may be considered.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master’s Degree in related field.
