Senior Linux AWS Administrator

Job Description

  • AWS Infrastructure Management: Design, deploy, and manage AWS infrastructure using services such as EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, and VPC, with a strong focus on Linux environments.

  • Linux System Administration: Manage and optimize Linux servers (Red Hat, Ubuntu, CentOS) in both cloud and on-premises environments.

  • Cloud Architecture: Develop and implement scalable, secure, and cost-effective cloud architectures to support various applications and services.

  • Automation and Scripting: Automate cloud operations and deployments using tools like CloudFormation, Terraform, Ansible, and scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or Perl.

  • Monitoring and Performance Tuning: Implement monitoring and alerting solutions (CloudWatch, Datadog) to ensure high availability and performance of cloud resources. Perform regular performance tuning and optimization of Linux systems.

  • Security and Compliance: Ensure the security and compliance of AWS and Linux environments by implementing best practices and conducting regular security assessments.

  • Disaster Recovery and Backup: Design and manage backup and disaster recovery strategies to ensure business continuity.

  • Cost Management: Monitor and optimize cloud costs, and implement cost-saving strategies.

  • Documentation and Training: Maintain detailed documentation of cloud architecture, Linux configurations, and processes. Provide training and support to team members on AWS and Linux best practices.

  • Collaboration: Collaborate with development, DevOps, and IT teams to support application deployments and troubleshoot issues.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in cloud and Linux administration, with at least 3 years focused on AWS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

  • Excellent English speaking skills.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to convey technical information to non technical users successfully.

  • Extensive experience with AWS services (EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, VPC, IAM, CloudFormation, etc.).

  • Proficiency in Linux system administration (Red Hat, Ubuntu, CentOS).

  • Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools like CloudFormation and Terraform.

  • Strong scripting skills (Python, Bash, Perl).

  • Experience with configuration management tools (Ansible, Puppet, Chef).

  • Experience with monitoring and logging tools (CloudWatch, Datadog, Splunk).

  • Solid understanding of networking, security, and system administration.
