We don't just talk about progress and innovation here – we make it happen, with our customers, where we work and live. Together, we are building a better world, so we can all enjoy living in it.

Caterpillar Inc. is seeking a dedicated Procurement Solutions Manager to spearhead supply chain and source strategy design for our Building Construction Products Engineering & Supply Management organization. You will mainly support the two focused efforts: PROcure readiness and deployment across BCP (categories and facilities); and the BCP Supply Resiliency strategy execution. As the BCP PROcure deployment lead, you will function as the voice and advocate for our organization to coordinate and lead prerequisite/readiness projects for upcoming PROcure modules. Establishing a strategic plan for BCP that can be executed successfully in the new software across the organization will be a significant area of focus. Key Projects will include Buyer Assignment, Enterprise Item Master and alignment with Sourcing and Item Master Module deployments. Additionally, you will support the coordination and execution of Supply Resiliency methodologies across our Building Construction Products Division, collaborating closely with BCP Engineering & Supply Management, Product, Supply Chain & Operations, and Facility Organizations. This position is a non-supervisory leadership position for our global teams and candidate must have proven leadership qualities.

What You Will Do:

  • Lead project teams and work collaboratively with partners across the organization in support of complex, and often critical, cross functional sourcing and supply chain strategic projects and initiatives. Achieve operational objectives by developing integrated project plans and schedules while creating plans in accordance with business objectives and target completion dates.

  • Drive communication and change management of key PROcure and Supply Resiliency project initiatives across a global BCP organization recognizing the need to support cultural and time zone differences and needs.

  • Work closely with Operations, Manufacturing, Purchasing, Finance, and Engineering, in support of supply chain and/or manufacturing strategies. Independently make decisions and drive execution of correct supply chain solutions.

  • Share Effective presentations and communications (written and verbal) to various levels of the organization.

  • Degree/Experience: bachelor’s degree in supply chain management or an engineering, technical or business curriculum OR varied experience in supply chain management, purchasing, engineering, New Product Introduction/Development, or operations.

  • Procurement: Experience in various levels of procurement with strong understanding and application for purchasing processes and systems

  • Program Management: Track record of delivering impactful results on complex multi-disciplined projects, without direct supervisory authority.

  • Alignment: Strong aptitude for fostering alignment among diverse stakeholders towards common goals and objectives.

  • Cross-Team Integration: Proven ability to understand the importance of inter-team collaboration in breaking down silos and achieving business results; ability to lead employees from various functions to communicate, coordinate work across divisions, and collaborate in solving problems as one team.

Top Candidates Will Have :

  • Experience with six sigma methodologies, Black Belt certification, or demonstrated lean process improvement experience to enhance operational excellence.

  • Knowledge of data gathering and analysis tools, techniques, and processes; ability to collect and synthesize data from a variety of stakeholders and sources in an objective manner to reach a conclusion, goal, or judgment.

  • Familiarity with heavy machinery or other similar industries, providing valuable context for immediate contribution.

  • Experience in systems such as Tableau, PowerBI, procurement systems, manufacturing management systems, and supply chain management systems.
