At Arrow Dental, LLC, we're passionate about helping you on your journey to be better. We are seeking a Dental Hygienist to work full time at our Dental Clinic in Astoria. This position will promote dental health by completing dental prophylaxis, scaling, root planning and periodontal maintenance; provides oral cancer screenings; takes radiographs; charts existing conditions, decay and disease; performs procedures in compliance with the dental practice act. Arrow Dental is currently offering a sign on bonus of $7,500 for this position. Arrow Dental is an Oregon-based dental care organization that offers routine care, restorative therapy and other specialty services to Medicaid and private insurance members throughout the state of Oregon. Clinic hours are Monday - Thursday, 7:30 m-5:30pm. Benefits: Medical, Dental, Life Insurance, and Employee Assistant Program PTO and paid company holidays 401k and FSA Pay Range: $45 to $52 per hour (depending on experience) Required Skills: 01. Registered Dental Hygienist with an active Oregon License 02. Follows ADHA Professional Code of Ethics 03. Two years dental office experience preferred 04. Dental practice management software experience helpful 05. BLS for Healthcare Providers 06. Participate effectively as a team player 07. Nitrous certification a plus 08. Digital radiography experience a plus 09. Excellent reading, oral and written communication skills 10. Ability to speak a second language helpful 11. Ability to interact professionally, patiently and courteously 12. Good problem solving and decision-making skills 13. Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced clinic 14. Maintain confidentiality and project a professional business image 15. Ability to come to work on time and on a daily basis Primary Functions: Prepare treatment room for patient by adhering to prescribed procedures and protocols Prepares patient for dental hygiene treatment by welcoming, soothing and seating patient Provides information to patients and employees by answering questions and requests Maintains instrumentation for dental hygiene treatment Selects materials and equipment for dental hygiene visit by evaluating patient’s oral health Completes dental prophys and periodontal scaling and root planning as appropriate Completes periodontal charting and takes radiographs Applies fluoride and other cavity-preventing agents as necessary Maintains patient appearance and ability to masticate by cleaning and polishing removable appliances Helps dentist manage dental and medical emergencies Educates patients by giving oral hygiene and plaque control instructions and postoperative instructions Documents dental hygiene services by recording vital sign and medical and dental histories; charting in patient records Maintains patient confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential Maintains safe and clean working environment; complies with procedures, rules, and regulations Adheres to infection-control policies and protocols Ensures operation of dental equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; follows manufacturer’s instructions; maintains equipment inventories Maintains hygiene supplies inventory; places orders for supplies; verifies receipt of supplies Conserves resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and reviewing professional publications Other duties as assigned Prepare treatment room for patient by adhering to prescribed procedures and protocols Arrow Dental seeks to allow equal employment opportunities for all qualified persons without regard to race, religion, color, age, sex, sexual orientation, national origin, marital status, disability, veteran status or any other status protected by law.
