HANAC, Inc. Program Aide in Astoria, New York

HANAC, Inc. – originally founded by George Douris as the Hellenic American Neighborhood Action Committee – is a New York City-based multi-faceted social services organization. The organization was founded in 1972 to serve the needs of vulnerable populations throughout New York City.  

The Program Aide of the NORC program will assist the Program Director to manage the operations of a social services information, referral, and assistance program that emphasizes benefits and entitlements to eligible members of the community.

Rate of pay: $22.00 per hour

Work Schedule MTWTH 8:00 am -12 pm (17 hours per week)

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • The program aide will be responsible for collecting donations

  • Making deposits at the bank

  • Distribute car service invoices

  • Prepare accounts payable requisitions and submit them to the director for approval

  • Conduct follow-up calls to ensure receipts of invoices from car service trips

  • Engage with clients as needed

  • Attend in-house or outside training as needed

  • Perform other required tasks.

    Qualifications:

  • Associates degree

  • The program aide should also have good communication and interpersonal skills,

  • the ability to use MS Office including but not limited to Word, have experience with accounts receivable and payable
