youthOPPORTUNITIES! Summer Job Monitor

The Ashtabula youthOPPORTUNITIES! Program is a community-based program in Ashtabula County that offers participants year-round access to a wide variety of services depending on their personal needs. Our focus is placed on youth who either need help to successfully continue in school and graduate or who need assistance completing their high-school equivalency (GED) while getting and keeping a job and becoming more self-sufficient. 

Pay: $14.00

  • Able to assist youth in achieving their identified employment goals.
  • Proficient in preparing and maintaining accurate records and reports on attendance, progress, and data entry into state reporting system.
  • Able to troubleshoot concerns and issues with youth on job site.
  • Supervising and ensuring the safety of participants or attendees.
  • Enforcing rules and regulations to maintain a safe and respectful environment.
  • Providing assistance and guidance to participants and businesses as needed.
  • Communicating effectively with participants, businesses, parents, and staff members.
  • Handling minor conflicts or issues that may arise among participants.
  • Assisting with administrative tasks such as record-keeping.
  • Following emergency procedures and protocols in case of incidents.

Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalence certificate required
  • A record free of criminal violations that would prohibit public school employment
  • Proficient in office protocol and the use of information technology systems such as Google Docs and Microsoft Office products
  • Able to communicate effectively with participants aged 14 to 24, as well as with parents and agency, business and school personnel
  • Valid driver's license, own vehicle and ability to work independently

Schedule: Full-time; May through September
