Description

The Financial Analyst will report to the Controller and directly supports plant accounting and manufacturing functions for this newly renovated production operation. Financial Analyst role include but not limited to month-end close activities, variance analysis, and management reporting to include, costs, production, inventory, expenditure, and profitability.

Individual responsibilities

Cost Accounting

• Assist with month-end close by preparing necessary journal entries and analyzing inventory activity.

• Reviewing financial records, researching, and analyzing key business costs and adjusting the ledger to accurately reflect the financials.

• Daily reporting and analysis of production and inventory.

• Reconciliation of inventory accounts by researching and correcting discrepancies

• Coordinates and supports periodic physical inventory and cycle count process, research inventory discrepancies and adjustment calculations.

• Identify inventory process improvements and propose solutions to streamline processes.

• Assisting in the implementation of internal controls related to inventory.

• Capital project cost tracking and monitoring.

• Participate in review of BOM(Bill Of Material), standard cost, test new standard costs for accuracy.

• Maintain standard costs, cost accounting activities.

• Analyze production costs vs standard costs and propose applicable correction to the standard cost.

• Understand and comply with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements and Inventory Policies and Guidelines

Financial Analysis

• Analyze company’s expenditures and create reports to advise on improving efficiency and reducing financial waste.

• Compile data on overall manufacturing costs and analyze materials, direct and indirect labor costs, Overhead costs, and manage connectivity across manufacturing and finance to translate business drivers into financial impacts.

• Assist with annual and monthly budgeting and forecasting processes.

• Proactively drive analysis on key performance trends by aggregating data into actionable information

• Evaluate risks/opportunities to financial performance.

• Recommending changes to the company processes and polices to reduce cost and maximize profit.

Management Reporting

• Assist in preparation of monthly financial reporting package, which include key metrics, financial results, and variance reporting. Analyze results vs forecast, budget, and prior year benchmarks.

• Prepare ad hoc reports and analysis, as requested, and assist in special projects.

Experiences and strengths

• Strong problem-solving, detail-oriented, analytical skills and a team player.

• Ability to prepare financial reports and give recommendations based on available data.

• Ability to work effectively and cross-functionally, think practically and be solution-oriented.

• Proficiency in SAP, and Microsoft Office Excel

• 5+ years in accounting and manufacturing cost required; FP& A experience is a plus.

• Strong verbal and written communication and organizational skills

• Strong knowledge of inventory accounting, processes, and controls

• A bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required

Requirements

Degree in Accounting or Finance

2+ years manufacturing plant finance

2+ years of cost accounting

1+ year working with ERP systems such as SAP

Exceptional EXCEL skills
