Join our dynamic team that is working to deliver solutions for truck, trailer, and refuse markets globally! We are currently hiring a Manufacturing Engineer to work under the Direction of Operations to provide process development, new equipment implementation, and productivity improvements to support manufacturing in the Hayesville Ohio facility. The incumbent will interface with all levels of personnel across all departments to proactively manage process improvement initiatives. This position will work out of the Hayesville, Ohio facility. What You'll Do Create, modify, and maintain computer programs for CNC machines. Analyze and define production times, including process, cycle, and takt times. Develop/Improve process flow, work instructions, control plans, and job routings. Determine equipment and tooling requirements for safe, effective, and efficient operations. Stay abreast of new and evolving technologies and processes applicable to operations. Direct, develop, and maintain processes, specifications, procedures, and equipment needs to satisfy customer expectations and to meet applicable quality standards. Introduce and manage process improvement disciplines, including Lean, Kaizen, 5S, Six Sigma, etc. Maintain and improve floor level work instructions for process improvements, including improving line performance and quality throughput, reducing changeover times, reducing equipment downtime and scrap, improving the plant's overall approach to preventative and predictive maintenance. Troubleshoot, manage, and implement technical inputs for incident investigation, root cause analysis, and corrective action. Interface with outside suppliers on equipment, process, and material improvements to stated requirements including assigning, determining, and providing corrective actions, as required. Act as project manager for multifunctional teams on process and product improvement activities. The scope of the job may change as necessitated by business demands. What You'll Bring Bachelor's degree in engineering or related job experience 5+ years of Manufacturing/Process Engineering experience, in a machine/fabrication setting What We Value Competent in CNC machinery programming, utilizing various programming languages Continual Improvement background with proven track record of sustained applications Proficient usage of Microsoft Suite and ERP (Epicor) Demonstrated ability to build effective relationships with personnel across all areas of business Experience working in a Union environment a plus Effective written, oral and presentation skills Robust leadership and organizational skills Resource and relationship management skills "Growth-mindset" paired with Best Practices methodologies Comprehension and practical application of Lean practices, Six Sigma, and Continual Improvement disciplines and practices This position involves work on equipment in a manufacturing environment and requires following basic safety precautions. Work is normally performed in a shared work environment divided between the shop floor and an interior workspace. This position requires wearing full PPE to protect from potential hazards on the shop floor. This position requires anywhere from light to moderate physical activity, such as walking, sitting, and standing for extended periods of time, as well as some lifting and engaging all motions necessary to efficiently perform job duties.
