Job Description

Scope:

Under general supervision, the Controls IIoT Engineer is responsible for the design, testing, configuration and analysis of digital information systems for manufacturing processes aimed to improve safety, quality, delivery, and productivity. The candidate will be able to assess industrial architectures and components and deploy data collection techniques to assembly working databases that can supply key information to upper-level systems (ERP, MES, MOM). Requirement to work with databases and OOP languages.

The candidate will report to a Regional Service Lead or Team Lead and work cross functionally with a team of Controls Engineers as well as Maintenance, Electrical, Mechanical, Controls and Robotic Technicians to assemble, test, commission, and support production equipment both on company and customer sites.

Major Responsibilities:

•High level of professionalism while providing excellent customer service

•Ability to quickly learn new technologies.

•Capable to thoroughly analyze complex problems and provide solutions

•Established subject matter expertise with ability to teach and support others, both colleagues and customers

•Experience designing, commissioning and troubleshooting industrial information solutions for manufacturing applications

•Broad knowledge of manufacturing, automation, industrial controls and information systems

•Hands-on experience in one or more of the following specialty areas:

oDeploying, troubleshooting and maintenance of SDNs oHands-on experience with Industrial Data Collection / IIOT

•Knowledge of industry standards and protocols for network and data security

•Experience configuring industrial network equipment for reliable & secure plant-wide communication

•Experience designing, developing, querying and administering industrial database systems (SQL, MS SQL Server)

•Experience with OOP languages such as Python, Java, VB.Net, and C

•Willingness to program, commission and troubleshoot customer site installations

•Experience programming PLCs such as Allen Bradley and Siemens is a plus

•Preferred 5 or more years of work experience in manufacturing industries

Additional Information

Education and Experience:

•Bachelors degree in computer science, information technology, computer engineering or related fields.

•Three to seven years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.

•Ability to technically lead / supervise up to 3 associate technicians

Responsibilities for Health, Safety and Environment include:

•Work in compliance with divisional health, safety, and environmental procedures

•Refrain from removing or altering safety devices or guarding unless hazardous energies are controlled through lockout-tagout methods

•Report any unsafe conditions or unsafe acts

•Report defect in any equipment or protective device

•Ensure that the required protective equipment is used for the assigned tasks

•Attend all required health, safety, and environmental training

•Report any accidents/incidents to supervisor
