Job Title: Database Administrator (DBA)

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Database Administrator (DBA) to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in managing and optimizing Oracle and Postgres databases, as well as extensive experience with AWS managed databases including RDS, Aurora, and Redshift. This role requires a deep understanding of database failover and recovery, backups, migration of on-premises databases to AWS, and proficiency with AWS CloudWatch. The successful candidate will be passionate about ensuring database performance, availability, and security, and experienced in handling data warehouses.

Hard Skills

  • Database Expertise in Oracle and Postgres databases

  • Extensive experience with AWS database services including Aurora, RDS, and Redshift

  • Proficient in SQL, database design, and data modeling

  • Familiarity with AWS CLI, SDKs, and CloudWatch

  • Experience with data warehouse design, implementation, and optimization, e.g., AWS Redshift

Soft Skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to handle complex database issues

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

Work Site

This is a remote/hybrid position requiring 1x days on-site in Ashburn, Virginia and some days remote depending on on call schedule.

Work Environment

This position allows teleworking with necessary on-site visits in Kingstowne, VA, and/or Ashburn, VA based on mission needs. The team utilizes an on-call schedule which may require travel to the datacenter site. All candidates must be local to the Northern Virginia area
