Steele School For Early Learning Classroom Assistant -Steel School For Early Learning in Arvada, Colorado

There is a 90 day probationary period with an evaluation at the end of probation. This position works with children which requires a full background check.

Qualifications:

Must be at least 16 years of age and work directly under the supervision of the director or ECT/Group Lead

Staff are expected to take early childhood education classes or workshops to further their understanding of best practices in Early Childhood Education.

Must be registered in the PDIS system

Must provide an annual physical ( or physical stating when the next is due) stating that they are in good health and able to fulfill their job responsibilities.

Must hold a current First-Aid and CPR card or taken the module in PDIS and Standard Precautions Training.

Must attend all training and in-services provided by Steele School for Early Learning. Must complete all training required by the Division of Licensing Regulations and Minimum Rules and Regulations for Child Care Centers in the State of Colorado, and with PDIS.

Must be dependable and punctual.

Must be team oriented.

Must be able to take constructive criticism.

Must be able to communicate efficiently and respectfully.

Comply with Rules and Policies of Steele School for Early Learning Staff Handbook.

Job Functions:

Assist in maintaining a clean, healthy environment for children.

Assist in weekly planning and preparation.

Assist with outdoor duties and activities as needed.

Remain engaged at all times with individual or groups of children.

Be active in the set up and clean up of the classroom activities.

Be active in cleaning and maintaining a sanitary, healthy classroom environment.

Must be prepared to float and cross train in other classrooms.

May be asked to assist in Kitchen duties. Ex: hand out snack

Treat each family with respect. Never say anything to a child you would not say in front of the parent.

Assist in record keeping ( portfolios etc.) as assigned.

Attend to children's toilet and hygiene needs with respect and privacy. ( boys and girls do not go potty together).

Assist with daily sheets, as needed.(Infants-Intermediate)

Assist with laundry and housekeeping duties as needed.

Clock in and out everyday.

Assist with classroom inventories as needed.

Follow all policies and procedures set forth by Steele School for Early Learning.

Follow all the policies of the fire department, health department and division of licensing
