City Of Arvada Bartender- West Woods Golf Club in Arvada, Colorado

Position Purpose

The City of Arvada operates two golf club restaurants; responsible for mixing and serving drinks to guests; ensures guest satisfaction through providing the best possible service standards. ** Tip Eligible Position

Job Functions / Scope of Authority

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Provides excellent guest service to patrons of the golf course facilities;

Has thorough knowledge of beverage menus, i.e. house brand liquors, liquor, beer and wine that is available; has ability to describe beverage ingredients and preparation;

Greets guests warmly and with a smile, proceeds with standard sales approach with suggestive selling and upselling; has thorough knowledge of food menu contents, daily specials and ability to describe menu items, preparation, and ingredients to guests;

Serves alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to guests prepared per provided recipes;

Stocks glassware and ice; prepare mixes and garnishes;

Manages inventory and restocks supplies as needed;

Follows all safety and sanitation procedures;

Works in an organized, expedient manner, anticipates guests' needs; i.e. staging the table per guest orders, refills, etc.

Clears dishes and tables; as needed;

Deliver all food and beverage items to guests with tray service in a timely manner, a maximum of 2 items may be hand-carried;

Keeps stations and work areas clean;

Performs all side work duties, works opening and closing duties as directed; helps where needed in restaurant;

Handles cash and credit card transactions accurately;

Follows and upholds established liquor laws and regulations as well as restaurant alcohol policies

Monitors guest alcohol consumption and intervenes as necessary;

Attends required department meetings and training sessions;

Other duties as assigned. ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Ability to communicate with others, ability to use good judgment;

Ability to work independently, ability to maintain clean and neat appearance, ability to maintain adequate attendance, ability to follow instructions,

Ability to work with a P.O.S., handle and reconcile of cash banks,

Ability to carry a serving tray as required;

Must be able to work evenings and weekends and some holidays, ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships and supervisors, other employees, and the general public;.

Working Environment / Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Must be 21 years or older

Ability to lift/carry up to 50 pounds occasionally PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

1-2 years previous bartending

Previous guest service or server experience
