Production Lead - primary function is to assist in scheduling, production, efficiency and reporting of processing operations. This position is approximately 40% administrative and 60% labor. Principal Responsibilities: Develops and maintains manufacturing operation business plans to include all program requirements, labor hours, cycle and production costs. Lead and direct daily work of crews in processing and/or maintenance work. Load and unload inbound white wood trucks, finished goods trucks and pole charges Ensure compliance with all Company standards of operation (work practice, safety, environmental and quality) Ensure compliance with specifications ANSI, ASTM, AWPA, framing prints, Company quality standards, etc. Able to identify plant safety hazards, and assist in conducting accident investigations Document and report accurate records of operations including but not limited to: Counting inbound white wood trucks, tallying pole charges and entering data into software. Coordinate processing with Production Supervisor and make recommendations for improvement. Assist Production Supervisor in maintenance of required operating supplies. Communicate in an efficient manner, both verbal and written, to ensure that crew members, other processing departments, and the Production Supervisor are informed of operational problems and requirements. Ensure all manufacturing areas (framing, Penta pads, incisors, FG storage, etc.) are kept clean and organized and in accordance with 5S principles and environmental BMP standards. Cross train employees to meet expectations of business needs Instruct employees on safe operation of equipment Participates and contributes to company safety program. Performs other related duties as assigned.
