SAIC Software Systems Engineer in ARLINGTON, Virginia

Description

SAIC is looking for a Systems Engineer to join a software development team in Arlington, Virginia to support The United States Marshals Services. The ideal candidate will have experience in developing and implementing software development processes and methodologies, as well as gathering requirements from stakeholders and leading the requirements gathering process. The Systems Engineer will work closely with software developers, project managers, and stakeholders to ensure that software solutions are designed and developed to meet the needs of the business.

Description of Duties:

  • Work with customer to detail processes and workflows using BPMN software

  • Gather and document software requirements from stakeholders, project managers, and end-users

  • Work with cross-functional teams to ensure that software requirements are complete, consistent, and accurately reflect the needs of the business

  • Develop and maintain system architecture and design documentation

  • Collaborate with software developers to ensure that software designs and implementations meet system requirements and architectural standards

  • Conduct regular reviews of system design and implementation to identify and address issues early in the development lifecycle

  • Provide technical guidance and support to software developers throughout the development process

  • Continuously identify opportunities to improve software development processes, tools, and technologies

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field

  • 5+ years of experience in software development, process engineering, or systems engineering

  • Strong understanding of software development methodologies and processes, such as Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall

  • Experience in gathering and documenting software requirements from stakeholders and end-users

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams

  • Experience in system architecture and design, as well as the ability to create and maintain system documentation (TOGAF, DODAF, etc)

  • Knowledge of software development tools and technologies, such as programming languages, databases, and development frameworks

  • Experience in project management is a plus

US Citizenship is required. Must be able to obtain DoD Secret clearance and USMS Public Trust Prior to joining our team.
