Description

The High-Volume Hiring (HVH) Tech organization's mission is to “Own products and technologies that enable WW Ops businesses to meet their hiring demand for associates in a cost-efficient manner while upholding the Amazon brand.” We are a green field organization at our early stages of innovation. Our products and technologies enable WW Ops businesses to hire full-time, part-time and seasonal associates in a variety of roles (e.g. picking, packing, sorting, delivering, customer service) across several businesses such as Fulfilment Centers (FC), Sort Centers (SC), Amazon Logistics (AMZL), Global Specialty Fulfillment (GSF), Customer Service (CS), Air and Drivers.

Key job responsibilities

As a Software Development Engineer, you will drive the development of services and assets for a global solution that will be used by millions of applicants aspiring to work at Amazon. You will own automation of business processes using proven as well as evolving AWS services and other technologies to create a friction free customer experience. Your tier-one services will have highest standards and be available 24x7, scale under massive load, and perform consistently.

In this role you will -

• Be a technical leader that is not afraid to challenge the norms and innovate.

• Execute against project plans and delivery commitments.

• Collaborate with experienced cross-disciplinary Amazonians to conceive, design, and bring innovative products and services to market.

• Design and build innovative technologies in a large distributed computing environment, and help lead fundamental changes in the industry.

• Build distributed systems that are scalable, fault-tolerant, low cost, and easy to manage/use.

• Ability to design and code the right solutions starting with broadly defined problems.

• Work in an agile environment to deliver high-quality software.

About the team

We are a team of 8-10 engineers who work together to design and deliver a system that enables thousands of Amazon associates help millions of candidates through the hiring process.

We are very focused on ensuring that we enable a great candidate experience.

Our customers are the Amazon Associates that interact with candidates during screenings and support calls.

We also work directly with the internal workforce staffing team, data scientists, and other hiring systems to ensure a great candidate experience.

We find new ways to use automation to help the hiring process move faster, smoother, and smarter.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience

  • 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience

  • 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience

  • Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
