The Sr. Supply Chain Manager is a core member of the Amazon Business Operations NA Middle Mile team. This role will own building a sub-network withing Amazon’s NA Middle Mile network to fulfill B2B customers’ large purchases consolidated on pallets. It will involve developing the strategy with the goal of maximizing attainment while optimizing fulfillment cost and delivery speed for Amazon’s largest B2B customers. The Strategy and Planning close partnership with NA Sort Center (NASC) and AMXL orgs, including VP level visibility and alignment. The role will also own Planning and enabling Middle Mile connectivity from Amazon’s parcel network to Amazon’s Heavy Bulky network (‘AMXL’). It may require frequent B2B customer interaction and travel to customer sites for new launches or problem resolution. The role requires strong analytic skills to optimize cost and speed, earns trust with stakeholder, L8+ leaders, and customers, and delivery results to successfully built out am optimal sub-network for pallet fulfillment within Amazon NA Operations.

Key job responsibilities

  • Partner with NASC and develop a high confidence long term Middle Mile capacity plan for pallet fulfillment in NA. Develop deep understanding of current Middle Mile network and future strategy to develop the right capacity plan for AB’s customers

  • Grow the existing Direct Delivery program – a program that does daily pallet delivery milk runs to AB’s largest B2B customers (typically multi-million dollar procurement spend on Amazon) – to continually increase entitlement and maximize attainment

  • Establish new Middle Mile connectivity plans and optimize existing connectivity across Amazon’s parcel and heavy-bulky delivery networks to optimize delivery speed and cost

  • Drive Sustainability focused innovation in Amazon’s pallet fulfillment

  • Manage full lifecycle of complex cross-functional programs with considerable impact across multiple organizations

  • Use strong analytical and quantitative skills; Ability to use SQL (Amazon Redshift, Microsoft SQL, and Postgres) and reporting platforms (Tableau, QuickSight, and SSRS) to produce clear data that allows cross-functional stakeholders to make exceptional business decisions that improve customer experience.

  • Define the program (mission, vision, tenets), set objectives, analyze data and drive improvements that are quantified with metrics

  • Roll up your sleeves and do whatever is necessary; general manager / owner mentality

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of supply chain experience

  • 5+ years of program or project management experience

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain, business, engineering, finance or related technical or quantitative field

  • Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements

  • Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership

  • Knowledge of Excel at an intermediate level (e.g., pivot tables & charts, multiple criteria lookups, nested logical/IF formulas, data cleansing, array formulas, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications

  • 4+ years of supply chain, forecasting, manufacturing, sourcing/procurement, or vendor management experience

  • Master's degree in supply chain, business, engineering, finance or related technical or quantitative field

  • Experience in developing predictive modeling in any field, applicable to modeling and predicting key performance indicators in the supply chain and logistics domain

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $92,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $181,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
