Job Description

Purpose & Scope:

Responsible for the screening of all patients, visitors, contractors, vendors, employees, and all other persons arriving to VHC-owned or leased facilities for security and/or health & safety reasons. Controls access to the facility or area to which they are assigned using established security or infection prevention protocols and policies. Uses screening equipment, to include, but not limited to, visitor check-in kiosks, computers, cameras, and other related equipment, such as weapons detection systems or health screening systems. Maintains positive public relations by providing excellent customer service to those entering and exiting the facility. Provides additional support to the Security and/or Parking Departments when required, such as with vehicle traffic direction and enforcement of parking policies in and around facility entrances and within fire lanes.

Education:

High School Diploma is required.

Experience:

One year of Customer Service is required.

Certification/Licensure:

None

Self-confidence to restrict or deny access to unapproved and/or non-compliant individuals required. Personal responsibility to escalate and communicate issues and concerns to facility.

Leadership required. Multi-lingual preferred

Responsibilities:

  • Greets all individuals upon arrival to the facility or area to which they are assigned

  • Explains screening process to individuals

  • Conducts thorough and accurate screening of individuals, which may include security and/or health screening functions

  • For security screening functions, duties may include requesting and validating identification from the individual, including employees; entering information into computers or computerized visitor management systems; printing or issuing visitor identification; and operating cameras or weapons detection systems

  • For health screening functions, duties may include asking the individual health screening questions; taking temperatures; and validating or analyzing responses to questions

  • Provides excellent customer service to all individuals, which may include providing directions, assisting with location information or general information about the facility or area

  • Enforces current security policies related to identification for employees and non-employees

  • Approves or denies access to individuals based on current security and/or health screening policies

  • Monitors assigned facility or area for potential security violations and alerts Security to potential or actual security violations or non-compliant individuals

  • Describes and enforces current hygiene and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) protocols

  • Assist the Security and/or Parking Departments with vehicle traffic direction or with parking enforcement in and around facility entrances and within fire lanes

  • Assist with any other security-related duties that involve access control, such as during facility lockdowns or emergency events

    Hourly rate : $19.00/hr with additional differentials on evening, overnight, and weekend shifts. This is a PRN/as needed position (hours can be scheduled on any shift) .
