Insight Global Secret Financial Policy Analyst in Arlington, Virginia

Job Description

Insight Global is actively seeking a Senior Financial Policy Analyst to join our team in support of a DoD program. Work is onsite at the Pentagon in Washington D.C. roughly 2 days per week and remote 3 days per week. Position requires 8-hour duty day / 40 hours weekly including FINRED core hours of Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Candidate will represent the organization in direct communication with customers and demonstrate an interest in advancing the Financial Readiness (FINRED) mission.

Job Description:

* Support mission by developing memorandums, information papers, talking points, and briefings for senior DoD leaders that communicate policies, positions, program information, requirements, and requests for action on issues impacting the financial readiness of Service members and their families.

* Develop, draft, coordinate, and obtain approval for DoD instructions and other official policy documents to communicate DoD-wide guidance.

* Coordinate with DoD-wide programs to address and to provide financial readiness policy requirements, including military training, banking, military consumer protections, morale and welfare programs, suicide prevention, family readiness, and transition assistance.

* Support collaboration efforts within DoD and with interagency and external partners to advance DoD financial readiness program goals.

* Support data collection and survey development activities to analyze and monitor financial well-being in the military community.

* Produce professional analytic products, including the development of reports, presentations, and briefings.

* Build expertise and maintain awareness of emerging research within government, academia, industry, and other outside-DoD organizations related to financial literacy education, military pay and benefits, miliary consumer protections, and other matters impacting the financial lives of Service members and families.

* Coordinate and support daily meetings, activities of staff, to plan for group meetings, and/or events using common communication and collaboration tools.

* Review, research, analyze, and communicate the potential impacts of proposed legislation on DoD policies, programs, and positions to senior DoD leaders.

* Draft statements, testimony, responses, briefings, and talking points to communicate DoD policies, programs, and positions to diverse external audiences, including Congress, media, military and veteran support organizations, and the public.

* Understand program requirements and analyze raw data to evaluate programs, draw conclusions, and make recommendations to Director in the areas of efficiency, utilization, service delivery, and mission alignment.

* Up to 10% travel possible.

Skills and Requirements

* Bachelors degree and ten (10) years or more of related experience; additional four (4) years of related experience in lieu of degree

* Active secret clearance

* Experience with staffing processes for DoD Directives and Instructions (DoDI) and other formal correspondence at the Military Service Headquarters or higher level. Strong communication and writing skills.

* Ability to conduct general data analytics, program evaluation, and assessments.

* Experience in Policy Development; Individual will draft policy documents in a variety of formats. Skills should include understanding of DoD staffing processes, including the DoD issuance process and with FOIA requests.

* A basic understanding of the scope of knowledge and basic learning objectives/skills related to the military personal financial management space. * Expertise in developing, delivering, and reporting on DoD-wide programs in cross-cutting Financial Readiness specializations (e.g., personnel training, counseling, financial management, consumer protection, communications, spouse and family support activities) to support the operation and improvement of the office mission.

* Ability to coordinate with other research analysts in conducting research projects relevant to the improvement of the DoD wide program.

* Individual will perform tasks including researching, analyzing proposed legislation, and preparing responses to Congressional inquiries and requirements.

* Background in Personal Financial Management and a basic understanding of the scope of knowledge and basic learning objectives/skills related to the military personal financial management space. null
