Join the VHC Health Cardiac Cath Lab team! In this unit they have 14 bays in their pre/post holding area and 4 cath labs in the procedural area. They recently collaborated with the telemetry units and staff development team to create education materials for the units that receive our patients in an effort to provide the best possible post-cath recovery care. They have an incredibly strong structural heart program, recently performing their 500th TAVR! In this unit you can expect to serve adult and geriatric patients, specifically cardiac and vascular patients. They perform Cardiac catheterizations, Percutaneous coronary interventions, EKOS, INARI, Peripheral procedures, Electrophysiology procedures including: Electrophysiology studies, Ablations, and Pacemaker implants. In addition, they also perform Structural Heart procedures: TAVRs, Mitraclips, TMVRs, and Watchman devices. Critical care experience is required for the Cath Lab procedural area. Telemetry experience and ACLS is required for the pre/post holding area. What makes the Cardiac Cath Lab unique is that they are a very tight-knit unit and often refer to themselves as “The Cath Lab Family”. Their incredibly experienced team is driven, they take a lot of pride in their work, and strive to provide excellent care to patients on a daily basis. They have wonderful rapport and great collaboration with the VHC cardiologists, which in turn has contributed to the unit’s high retention rate. This team is extremely passionate about the work they do in the CCL and invest in each other’s success. They are patient centered and have a family-oriented team dynamic. They consider themselves are a very unique cardiac department, different than any other type of procedural and pre/post area. If you are interested in saving lives daily this may be the unit for you! As the Patient Care Director you are responsible for the 24 hour management of the Cardiac Cath Labdepartment. In this role you will develop patient care services goals, objectives, standards of performance, policies and procedures. Other duties include organizing the department in accordance with the hospital's mission and vision statements in order to provide specified nursing services to meet the legal, organizational, and medical staff guidelines.

Job Description

Purpose & Scope:

This professional RN is responsible for the 24-hour management of the department. Develops patient care services goals, objectives, standards of performance, policies and procedures; organizes the department in accordance with the hospital's mission and vision statements in order to provide specified nursing services to meet the legal, organizational, and medical staff guidelines. Evaluates proposed procedural changes as they relate to patient care, directs / supervises the implementation, and ensures compliance with Standards of Nursing Practice that promote optimum health care delivery.

Education:

Bachelor's degree from an Accredited School of Nursing is required.

Master's degree in nursing, business administration, or healthcare administration is preferred.

Experience:

Three years of Nursing Leadership is PreferredThree years of experience in area of clinical specialty is required.

Certification/Licensure:

Licensed as a Registered Nurse by the Virginia Department of Health Professions is required.Compact State Licensure in Nursing is required.BLS Certification required.
