Amentum Instructional Systems Designer in Arlington, Virginia

CENTRA’s Homeland Group provides a range of homeland security, law enforcement, and intelligence, risk analysis and modeling, and program management services to Federal, state, and local agencies. The Homeland Group is looking for a minimum Secret cleared full time Instructional Systems Designer will support the design and development of instructor-led, blended, and e-learning intelligence courses for DHS. The ISD will work closely with SMEs to conduct the full ADDIE development process for newly created courses as well as for existing courses requiring updating, improvement, or transition to virtual or e-learning modalities.

Requirements/Preferred:

In order to effectively develop high quality training content to improve workforce performance the assigned successful ISD must possess the subject matter expertise in formal Instructional Systems Design process to include but not limited to the ADDIE Model.

The ISD must have a minimum of:

  • Active Secret clearance, preferred TS clearance

  • Five (5) years’ experience in developing formal workforce development, education, and training programs.

  • A four-year degree from an accredited institution of higher learning is required. (Degrees in education are desirable).

  • Extensive ISD experience exceeding 10 years and a 2-year associate’s degree in education or ISD may be substituted for a 4-year degree with government

  • approval.

  • A minimum of 24 college credit hours in training design are required. This requirement may be substituted with a 40 hour certification in Training Design and Development.

  • The ISD must be able to work closely with supervisors to assess performance gaps and with Subject Matter Experts to develop training that is impactful and addresses the workforce performance needs.

  • ISD Specialist shall be expected to operate appropriate Microsoft-compatible desktop applications, audio-visual equipment including laptops, audio video projectors, screens, pointers, and other classroom devices.

  • ISD Specialist must be experience in curriculum development software such as Adobe Captivate and curriculum delivery systems such as BlackBoard and Acadis.

  • ISD Specialist must have experience in developing training for all modalities to include: In-Resident; Mobile Training Teams; E-Learning, Web Based Training (WBT) and Computer Based Training (CBT); and synchronous and asynchronous distance learning programs.
