GCyber Inside/Outside Plant (OSP) Manager in Arlington, Virginia

GCyber is actively seeking a skilled Inside/Outside Plant (OSP) Manager with a strong background in telecommunications infrastructure and project management to oversee the development, installation, and maintenance of inside and outside plant cabling systems. The successful candidate will ensure the reliability and efficiency of our high-profile DoD client’s telecommunications infrastructure within secure environments.

As an Inside/Outside Plant (OSP) Manager, you will:

 

  • Lead the planning, design, and implementation of inside and outside plant cabling infrastructure, ensuring compliance with industry standards, DoD requirements, and organizational goals.

  • Oversee the management of projects related to the installation, maintenance, and upgrade of fiber optic and copper cabling systems, including both aerial and underground infrastructures.

  • Coordinate and supervise the activities of technicians and contractors, ensuring work is performed to high standards, within budget, and on schedule.

  • Conduct site surveys, develop project scopes, and prepare detailed documentation, including engineering circuit layout diagrams and project reports.

  • Ensure all OSP activities comply with safety regulations, including adherence to OSP Confined Space Training requirements.

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry best practices, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes affecting inside and outside plant operations.

  • Provide technical expertise and guidance in the resolution of complex technical issues, including troubleshooting and repair of OSP infrastructure.

  • Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to align OSP projects with broader organizational objectives and infrastructure developments.

  • Manage the OSP inventory, including materials, tools, and equipment, ensuring availability for ongoing and upcoming projects.

    Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

  • Active TS/SCI Clearance required.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field such as Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Technology.

  • Minimum 7years of relevant experience in managing and operating inside and outside plant telecommunications infrastructure.

  • RCDD (Registered Communications Distribution Designer) certification required.

  • Proven ability to attain or current possession of OSP Confined Space Training, ensuring compliance with safety regulations for confined space operations.

  • Demonstrated experience in project management, including planning, executing, and closing projects related to telecommunications infrastructure.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills, capable of effectively interacting with the highest levels of management and technical teams.

  • Knowledge of IP and optical network operations, DoD network and system security requirements, and ITSM best practices.
