Amazon Design Operations Manager, Amazon Payment Products in Arlington, Virginia

Description

Amazon Payment Products manages all Amazon and partner-branded payment services such as co-branded credit cards, third-party credit cards, and reward redemption programs. We are continuously innovating new market-leading campaigns and product features. Amazon is looking for a strategic design/creative operations leader with hands-on expertise in developing full lifecycle operations systems to organize and streamline the delivery of marketing and product experiences. Collaboration with design leadership, visual designers, writers, product marketers, and product managers will enable the team to focus on designing delightful experiences for our customers.

You are a design operations and management professional with 5+ years of experience managing the lifecycle of operations systems and projects, thriving in a fast-paced, start-up environment. You are an organized self-starter who can deal with ambiguity and competing priorities and are always looking for processes improvement. You are methodical in building workflows across disciplines and different project life-cycles. You have no problem presenting–and defending–your ideas to partner teams and leadership.

Key job responsibilities

• Lead design/creative operations practices across workstreams for evergreen initiatives, Prime Day and Holiday events, capacity planning, maintenance, and evolution of operations technology (Asana) for quarterly intake collecting feedback from stakeholders, and process optimization

• Lead major project and event retrospectives building action plans to solve roadblocks and increase workflow productivity

• Manage strategic initiatives that improve design team efficiency and impact

• Escalate design teams requirements with partner teams (product, marketing, central brand, and events)

• Measure the impact of programs and initiatives both qualitatively and quantitatively

• Collaborate cross-functionally with UX/VX designers, writers, marketers, and product managers to ensure a smooth product development process

• Drive a communication strategy to keep partner teams informed and aligned on priorities and risks

• Work with other Design Operations leaders in the Amazon design community to establish best practices in process, tooling, and approach

Basic Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 year's experience as a digital producer, design operations manager, design project manager, or program manager with experience evolving operations, supporting design teams and developing relationships

• Experience establishing and maintaining design workflows in Asana (or similar)

• Experience collaborating with a team of designers/writers through the full product development lifecycle

• Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical individuals

• Excellent negotiation, communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills

• Bachelor's degree in design, human-computer interaction (HCI), or equivalent professional experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in a customer-centric, insights-driven e-commerce environment

• Deep familiarity with user-centered design processes and iterative development processes

• Experience collaborating on innovative, successful global consumer campaigns in a highly-matrixed and ambiguous environment

• Unwavering attention to detail with an acute awareness that everything counts

• Versed in best practices for web-based and mobile information processes

• Motivated by start-up style environment where rapid iteration is encouraged

• Experience with the design tooling and design systems management (e.g. Asana, Figma, Adobe CC)

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $66,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $159,900/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
