Job Summary

Provide guidance for prospective freshmen and transfer students and their families on the admissions, financial aid, scholarship, and housing processes within the office of Admissions. Responsible for the recruitment of prospective students, including activities that will generate prospects, applicants and enrollment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Conducts student recruitment activities in the office of Admissions such as, but not limited to the following:

  • Counsel all undergraduate students, parents, and others at various stages of the college search cycle on the admissions process and entrance requirements, including transfer credit, and undergraduate educational opportunities.

  • Review transcripts and provide guidance on next steps for prospective students.

  • Provide applicants with notification of their eligibility.

  • Compose correspondence to answer inquiries of a complex nature.

  • Determine eligibility for students with complex admission problems.

  • Counsel students on financial aid and/or housing arrangements.

  • Serves as front counter personnel on daily basis to engage in high level customer service with prospective students and their families, both in person and via phone.

  • Coordinate student worker projects with respective teams and the Associate Director of Operations.

  • Liaison with Recruitment Coordinating Council members, TRIO, and other recruitment teams for special campus visit initiatives and presentations.

  • Conduct student recruiting at high schools and colleges as needed to assist other admissions counselors.

  • Assists with all on-campus recruitment events hosted by Admissions Office.

  • Position will be cross-trained on both domestic and international undergraduate admissions policies.

  • Member of Admissions Appeals Committee.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with one (1) years of experience counseling students in academic and scholastic matters, with a broad knowledge of institutional admission requirements or the equivalent experience.

  • Ability and knowledge of how to produce accurate admission and transfer evaluations are required.

  • May require frequent travel for recruiting purposes.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Two (2) years of experience counseling students in academic and scholastic matters, with a broad knowledge of institutional admission requirements or the equivalent experience

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Software.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Detail Oriented

  • Ability to multitask in a busy office environment with multiple interruptions, including high volume phone calls and monitoring multiple email accounts.

  • Ability and knowledge to use standard office equipment.

  • Ability to work some required nights and weekends.
