Lockheed Martin Paint Sprayer in Archbald, Pennsylvania

Description: Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control (MFC) has an opportunity for a Paint Sprayer to join the Archbald, PA team. Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:

 Follows instructions to mark fabricated components using silk screen, stencil or pad printing methods and various types of inks or paints in accordance with manufacturing instructions

 Makes paper stencils to meet marking requirements of sketches or blueprints

 Uses a spray gun for stenciling all kinds of surfaces or manufacturing articles with material such as ink, enamels, lacquer, paint, etc.

 Uses solvents and aqueous cleaners, or abrasive blasting to clean parts, mask/unmask painted parts, apply localized tin plating, and light mechanical assembly

 Wash, mask, shot/abrasive blast, and apply metal flame spray to parts and weldments per established manufacturing instructions

 Assists painters with paint prep such as clean, mask/unmask, paint and tap holes per established manufacturing instructions

 Uses a spray gun, brushes, or other application methods for coating various types of surfaces of manufacturing articles with finished or protective material such as enamels, lacquer, paint, etc. and adjusts and directs spray to obtain specified finish

 Operates and maintains all types of automatic and non-automatic painting, spraying and dipping equipment

 Perform paint stripping of various types

 Interprets CAD data, prints and sketches with regard to regarding various paint, marking, plating and touch-up and can follow written manufacturing instructions (MI's) and/or verbal instructions

 Performs minor preventive maintenance to equipment

 Reports equipment problems to supervisor

 Works in time-critical situations in a dynamic, team-oriented environment where programs, setups, and tooling are constantly changing and interact effectively with associates & management as priorities shift

 Performs other job-related duties as required by management

 Maintains workstation/cell in organized manner and in compliance with any applicable safety standards

 Receives and, when assigned, provides cross-training for other tasks related to department functions and procedures

 Physical condition allowing:

a. Lifting 50 pounds

b. Standing, sitting, bending, walking, 10+ hours per day

c. Personal protective equipment including Steel-toed shoes, safety glasses, hearing protection, and wearing a respirator when required

 Adheres to safety guidelines and the correct procedures for performing tasks to prevent personal injury or damage to product and/or equipment

 Supports a flexible work schedule including alternate shifts, overtime, off-Fridays and/or weekends to support product schedules as required

 Work well with others and cross shift with others on the same work

Basic Qualifications:

 Ability to work safely with chemicals such as solvents, acidic and alkaline solutions and aqueous cleaners

 Ability to qualify and retain qualifications necessary of the processes performed

 Knows the difference between hot and cold rolled steel, aluminum, and stainless steel and makes adjustments accordingly

 Proficient using hand tools for burr removal and metal finishing

 Ability to use various types of measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and thickness measuring equipment

 Can read and understand complex blueprints and sketches with respect to various paint, marking, plating and touch-up and differentiation between thread sizes, pitch, metric and standard threads

Desired Skills:

 Two (2) years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment

 Experience in Dalic tin plating or chemical conversion processes such as aluminum chromate conversion

 Powder coating (batch or automated) experience

 Silk Screen, stenciling, pad or other printing processes experience

 Use of grinding tools for metal finishing

 Mix and spray various types of paints and primers to obtain high-quality finish to desired thickness and color and gloss matching to precise tolerances

 Wash, shot/abrasive blast, mask, and apply the metal flame spray to parts and welded structures per established manufacturing instructions

 Knowledge of LMPeople, Learning Management System, Password Reset, White Pages, Apriso

 Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of products (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
