TITLE:Grinding/Cleaning SupervisorREPORTS TO:Plant ManagerSTATUS:Salary Exempt - Full-TimeAPPROVED:August 7, 2024PAY RANGE:$55,000 - $65,000 per yearSUMMARYThe Grinding/Cleaning Supervisor is responsible for overseeing, coordinating and directing all cleaning, blast and heat treat operations. As well as ensuring the team is complying with all safety policies and procedures. Additionally, employee’s behaviors must align with Ligon’s Business Ethics Policy, and strive to attain our Perfect Day Philosophy.PRIMARY RESPONSIBLITIES•A safe working environment, manufacturing costs, casting quality, quantity of production, methods of production.•The effective use of production hours, manpower skill, machines, equipment, and facilities.•Participate in planning production schedules, staffing requirements and manufacturing controls as related to manufacturing operations.•Expedite scheduled production, investigate delays and initiate corrective action to assure economical production through safe and efficient procedures.•Coordinate programs as related to operations (example: manufacturing, methods, cost reduction, preventive and regular maintenance, safety, training, housekeeping, scrap reduction, productivity, continual improvement).•Administer company rules, regulations and policies governing employment.•Control and maintain the raw materials and cleaning supplies.•Maintain and upgrade current process control programs.•Assist in implementation and maintenance of procedures as required to sustain ISO/AS9100 certification.•Promote and enforce the Ligon Perfect Day.•Performs other related responsibilities as deemed necessary by the Plant Manager.EDUCATION REQUIREMENT•High school diploma or equivalent•5-7 years of supervisor experienceREQUIRED SKILLS•Must be proficient in MS Office, specifically Access and Excel.•Ability to work and communicate well with others at all levels.•Ability to hold confidential information in strict confidence.•Must be able to multitask and demonstrate excellent organizational skills.•Ability to read and interpret various technical documents.•Ability to use knowledge, experience, and education as needed for employee training.•Familiarity with aluminum castings concepts, practices and procedures a plus.SCHEDULE•10-hour shift•12-hour shift•Day shift•Evening shift•Night shiftPHYSICAL ENVIRONMENTPhysical DemandsWorking on the foundry floor for extended periods of time. Sitting and viewing computer monitor, as well as lifting pushing and pulling of material as necessary.Working ConditionsThe employee will be exposed to an environment where hearing, eye safety, safety shoes and other personal protective equipment (PPE) is required.
