OVERVIEW

The Sr. Control System Engineer is responsible for maintaining and enhancing the Company’s packaging and warehouse control systems in a manner that is consistently driven for improved performance in accordance to industry standards. The successful candidate must be a motivated self-directed person that requires minimal supervision. This person will be expected to identify problems, develop solutions, and quickly implement their strategy. Good communication skills and an assertive personality are both essential to be successful in this position.

DETAILED ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Designs and supports both control and manufacturing execution systems

  • Supports site infrastructure for existing systems and serves as resource for operating systems and applications for Manufacturing Processes

  • Responsible for maintaining, enhancing, and designing the Company PLC and computer based control systems.

  • Coordinates the activities of others to implement designs for process control

  • Conducts automation feasibility studies for practicality and potential return on investment

  • Prepares and submits projects

  • Complete projects in a timely manner within budget.

  • Develops logic and algorithms for both discrete and analog control of processes and implement

  • Develops HMI applications and network applications to meet the needs of operations

  • Innovates to maintain our competitive edge and meet the needs of the end user

  • Assures the integrity of control and information systems through security and redundant system backups

  • Documents systems, provides training and technical support

  • Maintains health of Process Control Domain Infrastructure and existing Manufacturing Information Systems

  • Is proactive and not reactive to minimize system failures

  • Reports to Engineering Manager

    WORK EXPERIENCES

  • Minimum 2 years related work experience in process and/or packaging engineering.

  • Wonderware (Invensys) HMI

  • Allen Bradley PLC systems (AB Controllogix and PLC5)

  • VBscripting

  • Windows 2008, Win 7 operating systems

  • Archestra (System Platform)

    EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or in relevant discipline

    ESSENTIAL CAPABILITIES (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES)

  • Other PLC families of processors

  • Other Scripting languages

  • Processing Experience

  • Microsoft SQL server

  • Electrical and/or instrumentation background
