JOB REQUIREMENTS: POSITION SUMMARYThe Youth Apprenticeship role at U.S. Venture is a 1 or 2-year program that gives juniors and seniors in high school the chance to explore a career area of interest. Students spend part of their school day earning credit while they gain industry experience under the guidance of mentor. Every effort is made to design a Youth Apprentice assignment that matches the student\'s interests, provides meaningful work and a valuable learning experience, as well as to align to the associated State\'s Youth Apprentice guidelines for skills the student will need to acquire. Youth Apprentices may be assigned to one area or rotated through several divisions/departments. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Collaborating with IT staff: The apprentice will work closely with the IT team to resolve technical incidents or fulfill service requests. This involves learning how to troubleshoot and address common IT issues.1. Hardware installations and configurations: The apprentice will learn to perform installations and configurations of hardware. This includes setting up user devices, AV equipment, and ensuring they connect to the network and Wi-Fi. Documentation and reporting: The apprentice should maintain accurate records of IT tasks performed, incidents resolved, and service requests fulfilled. Clear documentation is essential for tracking progress and knowledge sharing. Basic network troubleshooting: The apprentice will learn to diagnose and resolve network connectivity issues. This includes checking cables, switches, and routers, as well as understanding IP addressing. User support and training: The apprentice will provide basic user support, such as password resets, account setups, and software support guidance. Training users on new tools or features may also be part of their responsibilities. Participating in IT projects: As opportunities arise, the apprentice can assist in IT projects, such as implementing new technologies. Microsoft Exchange administration: The apprentice will learn to manage Microsoft Exchange servers and services.
