JOB REQUIREMENTS: Sell spare and replacement parts and equipment in repair shop or parts store. To provide excellent customer service for both our walk-in and phone customers. Research on the computer and in catalogs to obtain the correct part numbers for customers, create invoices, and pull parts per order in a timely manner. Learn role of management with demonstrated desire for that position, organization, ability to lead and solid understanding of auto parts. This position also assists with checking in related stock and putting it away, setting up displays, keeping showroom neat and clean, and keeping all catalogs updated. Advise customers on substitution or modification of parts when identical replacements are not available. Demonstrate equipment to customers and explain functioning of equipment. Determine replacement parts required, according to inspections of old parts, customer requests, or customers\' descriptions of malfunctions. Discuss use and features of various parts, based on knowledge of machines or equipment. Examine returned parts for defects, and exchange defective parts or refund money. Fill customer orders from stock. Mark and store parts in stockrooms according to prearranged systems. Place new merchandise on display. Prepare sales slips or sales contracts. Read catalogs, microfiche viewers, or computer displays to determine replacement part stock numbers and prices. Receive and fill telephone orders for parts. Receive payment or obtain credit authorization.
