Micross Components Sr. Process Engineer in Apopka, Florida

Summary:

Perform functions associated with the research, develop, documentation, qualify, and implement production processes that will support the manufacture of high reliability assemblies for use in the space, commercial and military markets. Play an active role in the design of complex assemblies and establish stable manufacturing processes during prototype and development phases releasing documented and established procedures to production. Review, develop, and update statistical process control methods and related documentation, working within the limits of established policies.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Mentor/Coach Jr level Process Engineers and technicians.

  • Assist Leading team in managements absence.

  • Lead process technology transfers from Process Engineering department to Manufacturing department

  • Provide operator training and validate competency to perform required tasks

  • Develop robust production processes using Design of Experiments (DOEs)

  • Estimate manufacturing costs, determine time standards, and make recommendations for tooling and process requirements of new and existing products

  • Establish validation and verification criteria for new processes & products

  • Create and revise documentation detailing production processes

  • Take the lead to provide engineering support to facilitate production processes

  • Take an active role in the troubleshooting of problems in assembly areas working toward root cause and corrective action (RCCA) processes

  • Stay abreast of best practices and technologies and provide input on new processes to enhance or expand capabilities

  • Interface with Design Engineering team regarding process capabilities, materials, and review new products to ensure they meet Design for Manufacturing (DFM) criteria

  • Identify, facilitate, and prioritize opportunities for process improvements

  • Follow clean room and other environmental precautions and procedures as required.

  • Participate in any variety of meetings and work groups to integrate cross functional activities, communicate issues, obtain approvals, resolve problems, and maintain specified level of knowledge pertaining to new developments, requirements, and policies.

Requirements

Job Qualifications:

  • BSME or 10-15 years of combined education and experience

  • 10 - 15 years of related manufacturing experience

  • Working knowledge of MIL, IPC, and, J-STD workmanship, qualification and performance standards related to electronic assemblies (Mil-PRF-38534/5, IPC-610, J-STD-001, AS9100, etc.).

  • CAD, Solid works software courses, and/or experience.

  • Working knowledge of 5S, SPC, and, lean manufacturing practices.

Job Skills:

  • Working knowledge of parallel seam welding processes associated of Hermetic device manufacturing

  • Understanding of environmental screening requirements associated with micro-electronic assemblies

  • Experience with Wirebond and die attach of Hybrid Products.

  • Fast technical document generation/modification CAD, Excel, (PCB software is a plus).

  • Design tool/fixtures with minimal guidance.

  • SMT Process development in both leaded and lead free assemblies.

  • Knowledge in semiconductor manufacturing.

  • Self-motivated with the ability to align priorities in accordance with business goals and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Team player who enjoys working with different disciplines.
