Who will you be working with?

Our best-in-class Infrastructure - Americas team combines knowledge of Windows server environments to deliver unparalleled systems support and knowledge of Hyper V, VMware, Veeam, Citrix, and Server Operating Systems.

How will you make a difference?

As a member of the IT Infrastructure Team, you will be responsible for supporting the Americas teams, delivering impactful projects, and consistently improving processes for Wabtec.

What do we want to know about you?

You must have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math)

  • 6+ years of experience as a Windows System Engineer

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience working with Citrix, Hyper V and ESX environments

  • Ability to travel up to 5% Yearly.

  • Willingness to work all hours across different time zones globally, primarily US Eastern time zone.

  • Fluent English

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Able to manage implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance for all server infrastructure, both physical and virtual (Windows Servers, VMWare, Nutanix, Veeam, Hyper-V, Citrix)

  • Expert knowledge in Virtualization, commissioning of new guests, add/remove hardware or increase the disk space, etc., different High Availability options available, failover and failback, patching of hosts and guests along with running reports along with advance troubleshooting using the available log files/debugging mode

  • Proficient understanding of technology areas such as Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, Group Policy, Tanium.

  • Knowledge experience with Public cloud AWS.

  • Analytical approach to solve complex problems in a complex, large-scale, and multi datacenter environments.

  • Expert knowledge of networking concepts and technologies.

  • Self-starter – requires minimal direction to accomplish goals.

  • Strategic and creative thinking to analyze issues that may arise and create solutions.

  • PowerShell scripting skills

  • Ability to respond positively to feedback and implement change in process and procedures as needed.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, matrixed work environment.

What will your typical day look like?

  • Demonstrate high level of troubleshooting skills to lead or participate in major incident and problem management activities to ensure customer SLAs are met.

  • Monitor and optimize server infrastructure performance and ensure security in a high availability environment.

  • Support the installation, configuration, and operation of the Windows server environment, and provide in-depth technical expertise to efficiently troubleshoot and resolve unique or complex problems.

  • Participate in the application of security patches and updates to firmware & operating systems.

  • Collaborate effectively and be a strong team player.

  • Keep abreast of new tools and technologies while taking part in the evaluation and recommendations for new or enhanced capabilities to improve current platforms.

  • Provide on-call support to Application owners.

What about the physical demands of the job?

Physical Demands:

  • Requires daily interaction with Global team members on meeting calls or in person.

  • Requires sitting or standing in cubical and meeting rooms.

  • Employee is regularly required to look at computer screen.

Work Environment:

The employee will normally work in a temperature-controlled office environment, with frequent exposure to electronic office equipment. There may be some visits to Wabtec’s Datacenters which have specific sounds and environmental temperature considerations
