The Senior Manager, GDC Global Contracting reports to the Global Data Centers Senior Vice President of Legal and is responsible for: implementation of, and compliance with, systematic review of complex global client contracts, as well as general client contracting requirements; assistance to regional teams in negotiation of key global legal terms; coordination of global contracting between regions; global contracting mechanisms and standard forms; analysis, selection and implementation of a global contract lifecycle management tool as well as other global legal systems; and compliance with global legal regulatory requirements including data privacy and protection obligations.

This role is responsible for delegating and overseeing the work of global corporate counsel, as well as other legal staff working on global contracting, and may also perform work as an independent contributor. The Senior Manager, GDC Global Legal Contracting is also expected to represent the organization with its global clients, and affiliates as required in the course of work, and to oversee submissions and interactions of other team members.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Establishes and implements policies and methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for global client contracting, global contracting mechanisms and standard forms

  • Manages the process of reviewing large global client contracts among the various regions, including delegation of responsibilities for related tasks and oversight of junior attorneys and legal staff

  • Responsible for strategy and oversight of larger legal client contracts which contribute to the overall success of the Company

  • Responsible for management and oversight of corporate counsel, paralegals and other legal team members

  • Responsible for implementation and continuous improvement of global client contracting mechanisms to support both the enterprise and hyperscale contracts

  • Responds to complex inquiries from global functions, and regional sales and legal teams, including construction of contractual obligations and commitments;

  • Ensures that all contractual matters are addressed efficiently and promptly;

  • Advises company management of potential risks in contractual terms;

  • Responsible for analysis, selection and implementation of a global contract lifecycle management tool as well as other global legal systems analysis, selection and implementation of a global contract lifecycle management tool as well as other global legal systems;

  • Ensures compliance with global legal regulatory requirements including data privacy and protection obligations;

  • Coordinates and manages outside counsel and independent auditors.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Requires conceptual thinking to understand complex issues and their implications; Advise others on complex matters; Focuses on implementing and executing strategies within own department/ discipline/team; Directs the application of existing principles and guides development of new policies and ideas across a discipline/departmental area

  • Strong tactical decision-maker, handles unforeseen issues

  • Interacts regularly with senior and/or lower management on matters concerning several functional areas, department, and/or customers.

  • Applies knowledge to persuade diverse stakeholders on sensitive complex situations whilst preserving relationships.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Strong experience in client contracts and/ or commercial leasing, including drafting, commercial terms, and negotiations.

  • Developed business acumen, and the ability to combine legal and business analysis and judgment in a practical manner.

  • Self-starter, well organized, effectively manages stress in a fast-paced environment and produces consistent, positive results under deadline pressure.

  • Ability to work well both independently and as part of a highly collaborative team.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Data center industry experience a significant plus.

  • Juris Doctorate degree or equivalent.

  • Eight (8) years of relevant experience

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Remain stationary for long periods of time

  • Operate computer, peripherals, and other office equipment

WORK CONDITIONS & OTHER REQUIREMENTS

  • This position is expected to be remote with an occasional need to be on-site in a shared workspace.

  • Work across multiple global time zones (including but not limited to India, Europe, South Africa, US, Japan) is required for this position which will require work outside of normal work hours

  • Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.

  • Responsible to carry a cell phone and provide 24x7 support as needed.

  • Global travel may be required approximately six (6) times per year.

This is a remote position that requires reliable internet connection and electricity. A monthly stipend is provided to cover expenses associated with working remotely and use of a personal mobile device.

NTT Global Data Centers Americas, Inc. offers competitive compensation based on experience, education, and location. Base salary for this position is $ 230,000 - $ 265,000.00.

All regular full-time employees are eligible for an annual bonus; payout is dependent upon individual and company performance.
