The GL Accountant L3 will be responsible for maintaining accurate GL account balances and coding in accordance with GAAP, developing and enhancing system and process controls, other reports as needed, assistance with outside audit preparation and be a key resource for the accounting team.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Strong participation in the month-end close process, including journal entries, account reconciliation, while applying GAAP accounting to effectively report accurate GL balances.

  • Prepares journal entries, including proper company code, GL account, department, location, and project cost coding with appropriate supporting documentation.

  • Subject Matter Expert (SME) in critical areas of accounting including, but not limited to cash reconciliation and controls, intercompany accounting, system testing and controls.

  • Select balance sheet account reconciliations including high risk and critical accounts.

  • Analyzes Month-End financials to ensure accurate company, GL account, location and department coding by accounting staff; documents reasons for account variations from prior month.

  • Ability to perform flux review of financials before month-end close, and assist other staff with analysis

  • Works with other GL accountants on month-end review comments and research treatment of invoices and transactions.

  • Interfaces with other departments in the education and enforcement of accounting policies and/or procedures and well as providing information and support to other departments, as necessary.

  • Work with related party companies on accounting and key areas of responsibility

  • Liaison with corporate banking partners on banking matters.

  • Performs special accounting projects as assigned.

  • Participate and assist in regular analysis of system and procedural efficiencies to ensure financial statement integrity.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Excellent understanding and working knowledge of GAAP and Accounting Practices.

  • Excellent organizational skills

  • Strong communication skills

  • Proficient with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project)

  • Willingness to work with junior staff to promote their development.

  • Oracle system experience preferred.

  • Strong reconciliation skills preferred.

  • Ability to identify and improve processes.

  • Excellent analytical, research and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work efficiently and productively in a multi-task deadline-oriented environment independently with minimal supervision.

  • Ability to identify and analyze problems using sound judgment and determine solutions.

  • Self-motivated, dedicated, flexible, good team player.

  • Initiative and ability to own projects from start to finish can approach tasks strategically.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • BS Degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited school

  • Minimum of 6 years public or private accounting experience

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Primarily sitting with some walking, standing, and bending.

  • Able to hear and speak into a telephone.

  • Close visual work on a computer terminal.

  • Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate any required computer keyboard, mouse, and other technical instruments.

  • Able to lift and carry up to 20 lbs.

  • Able to climb a ladder and work on a raised platform.

WORK CONDITIONS

  • This position is expected to be remote for the foreseeable future with an occasional need to be onsite in a shared workspace.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Must possess a current, valid state-issued driver’s license.

This is a remote position that requires reliable internet connection and electricity. A monthly stipend is provided to cover expenses associated with working remotely and use of a personal mobile device, if applicable.

NTT Global Data Centers Americas, Inc. offers competitive compensation based on experience, education, and location. Base salary for this position is $90,000 - $128,200.

All regular full-time employees are eligible for an annual bonus; payout is dependent upon individual and company performance.
