Job Description:

Parsons is now hiring an Experienced Wastewater/ Water Industrial Engineer with a desire to work on large infrastructure projects that change the fabric of our community. We need our engineers to be versatile and enthusiastic to work in highly flexible, team-oriented environments and who have exceptional communication, analytical and organizational skills. In this role, you will complete a wide variety of complex engineering assignments and apply engineering techniques and analysis to specific wastewater project assignments in the semiconductor industry which may involve CAE (computer aided engineering)/CAD (computer aided design) applications. Design and operational experience in semiconductor facilities, pharmaceutical facilities, and chemical plants is considered a significant plus. Willingness to travel to supplier, client, or construction site locations is expected.

  • Syracuse, NY

  • Portland, OR

  • Lafayette, IN

What You'll Be Doing:

Engineering support and oversight of Design, Construction, and Commissioning of Wastewater systems including:

  • Review of Design drawings and specifications for completeness and accuracy

  • Review of equipment configuration and distribution routing of systems in NavisWorks 3D model relative to functionality, egress, ease of maintenance requirements, constructability, alignment with P&ID's, etc.

  • Validation of engineering calculations

  • Review and approval of equipment and component submittals in coordination with O&M staff

  • Review and validation of construction RFI responses

  • Review and approval of shop drawings and construction models

  • Field engineering QA during construction

  • Commissioning support

  • Entry of system information into a capacity planning software

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

  • Mid-Level or higher Engineer

  • Large Project greenfield design/construction experience

  • Wastewater reclamation and treatment system design experience

  • Solvent and other liquid waste collection experience

  • Gravity and pumped drain piping design experience

  • Semiconductor experience preferred

  • Team player who also takes ownership and drives success of designated areas of responsibility

  • Good written and verbal English communication skills

  • Working knowledge of various water and wastewater processes such as: headworks, membrane bioreactors, Ozone, reverse osmosis, UV, Ozone and other advance water treatment, primary clarifiers, aeration basins, secondary clarifiers, disinfection processes, anaerobic digestion, co-generation from bio-gas, reverse osmosis, membrane bioreactors, solids dewatering and other membrane processes

  • Knowledge and applications of industry codes and standards.

  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD (or CAD file reader) and/or Revit, BioWIN, Pipe-Flow, Visual Hydraulics software

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering is required and at least 8 years of experience in the design of water and wastewater treatment or similar industrial facilities

  • Professional Engineer registration may be required

Salary Range:

$83,300.00 - $145,800.00
