WHAT YOU WILL EXPERIENCE IN THIS POSITION: Troubleshoot and diagnose problems of failed units by analyzing product operational characteristics and performing various tests. Processing and or reworking product and inventory returns Reconditioning units to factory specification Scrapping, dismantling, and recycling of units and components Tests products by using the A/C tester or appropriate manufacturing "Functional Test Standard Procedure" Performs repair unit check-in by receiving the product in the JD Edwards system computer system Read and interpret maintenance manuals, service bulletins, and other specifications to resolve the feasibility and method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components Replace or repair worn, defective, damaged components or products, using hand tools, brazing torches, gauges, and testing equipment Requisition parts using work order pick list and material requisition processes Coordinate work orders for time and material allocations for accurate and timely completion YOU HAVE: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) Ideally 1+ years related experience and/or training as an HVAC service technician or mechanic Basic refrigeration and electrical training or equivalent experience Knowledge of basic computer software and systems, i.e. Microsoft Office, JDE, and other applicable systems Skill in identifying root causes of problems/issues and developing recommendations for resolution Ability to navigate complex machines and tools and use basic measuring instruments Skill in balancing multiple tasks/projects along with the ability to work in a self-directed manner WE HAVE: A dynamic global reach with diverse operations around the world that will stretch your abilities, provide plentiful career opportunities, and allow you to make an impact every day At nVent, we believe safer systems ensure a more secure world.
