Position Summary

We are looking for a Global Mainframe Automation Leader who will be responsible for driving the automation strategy and execution for our mainframe services. You will lead a team of automation engineers and collaborate with your peer mainframe services and functional stakeholders to identify, design, and implement automation solutions that enhance the efficiency of our mainframe services.

Key Areas of Focus for this Role

  • Define and communicate the mainframe automation vision and roadmap. Plan and execute the mainframe automation roadmap and strategy.

  • Manage the mainframe automation target, budget, and resources. Work with the stakeholders to achieve efficiency targets.

  • Measure and report on the impact and benefits of automation initiatives and identify areas for improvement.

  • Manage a team of automation SME’s. Working with the Mainframe Services leaders, Clients, and Product team to oversee the configuration, development, testing, and deployment of automation

  • Partner with the Product Engineering function to establish and enforce best practices and standards for mainframe automation.

  • Stay ahead of the curve on the latest trends and technologies in mainframe automation, driving innovation and continuous improvement for the mainframe services.

  • Represent the mainframe automation team in internal and external meetings, showcasing the value and impact of the mainframe automation solutions.

  • Conduct regular reviews and assessments of the mainframe automation processes and tools, ensuring continuous improvement

  • Guide teams to develop and maintain comprehensive documentation and standards for the mainframe automation processes and tools, facilitating knowledge sharing and collaboration

  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with the mainframe vendors and partners, ensuring alignment and collaboration on the mainframe automation projects, and leveraging their expertise and support

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field

  • Deep understanding of Mainframe Platform and Services. At least 10 years of experience in mainframe development, administration, or operations

  • At least 5 years of experience in mainframe automation, preferably using IBM Z Automation Suite, CA OPS/MVS , or similar tools

  • Strong knowledge of mainframe operating systems, database platforms, batch and scheduling operations, Mainframe networking and tools

  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a global and diverse environment

  • Understanding of Ansible Automation, ITOM, Service Now automation platform and tools
