Robert Half Staff Accountant in Annapolis, Maryland

Description

Mostly remote staff accountant to $85k + 10% bonus working for a stable and recession resistant industry leader. If you want to advance your career, you could receive strong compensation and excellent benefits in this position! This position offers a hybrid schedule with 1-2 days in the office and work from home for the rest of the week. They have offices in Baltimore, DC and Annapolis, Maryland area and your days in the office can be out of any of the three. You will succeed in this position if you have the ability to prepare journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, and general ledger reconciliation and be responsible for many aspects of internal reporting during the monthly close. If you're looking for work where you will participate in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules reporting processes, this role might be right for you. This position is ideal for someone with a complex understanding of Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. Your responsibilities

  • Manage schedules for monthly payments and capital lease

  • Become well-versed in month end balance sheet account reconciliations

  • Impromptu reporting and special projects, when requested

  • Produce analyses for monthly balance sheets and income statements for reporting by management

  • Produce complex journal entries and account reconciliations which include, but are not limited to, cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll

  • Take part in various department-wide initiatives

  • Manage reconciliation, depreciation, and fixed asset ledgers

  • Coordinate and analyze a variety of financial data, then report it in a way that is useful and understandable

  • Manage intercompany billings, transactions, and reconciliation

  • Produce journal entries and perform the month end close under minimal supervision

  • Regular maintenance and reconciliation of journal entries

  • Implement, maintain, and adhere to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP

  • Assist in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation

    Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in fund accounting, preferably within the investment or real estate industry.

  • Strong understanding of financial principles and GAAP.

  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and integrity.

  • CPA or progress towards CPA certification is a plus.
