GovCIO Scrum Master (Remote) in Annapolis, Maryland

Overview

GOVCIO is seeking a motivated Scrum Master with 10+ years of experience to facilitate scrum ceremonies, coach, and mentor team members, help Product Owners to manage their backlog, Sprint Planning, and assist in release planning. This position will be a fully remote position within the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Drive effective scrum ceremonies including daily standup, backlog refinement, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.

  • Track and distribute relevant metrics and report periodically to show team progress and velocity.

  • Identify, understand, and track impediments; help remove them and drive improvements to optimize how the team works.

  • Help the Product Owner manage customer expectations and stakeholder communications.

  • Act as a liaison between the team and everyone else to minimize interruptions to the sprint, keeping the team focused on delivering a quality product on time.

  • Represents the team in the Scrum of Scrum, cross team planning, and Risk mitigation meetings.

  • Helps the team prepare for PI Planning and guides the team during the event to complete all their tasks.

  • Demonstrates a growth mindset by coaching the team and Product Owner on how to improve their practices to excel at scale.

  • Facilitate communication and collaboration between Scrum teams, product owners, and other stakeholders including cybersecurity and operations.

Qualifications

Required Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Information Technology, or related fields

  • Knowledge and understanding of Agile SCRUM development products.

  • 10+ years of experience with agile software development, agile methodologies, software development life cycle management, and cross-functional team.

  • Experience training and managing Scrum teams.

  • Excellent communication and mentoring skills

  • Adaptable and flexible in a cross-functional environment

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to lead retrospectives, document outcomes, and guide team members in best practices.

  • Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) experience or certifications a plus.

  • Experience working on API teams a plus.

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.

  • Experience in any of the following: Experience in JIRA, Confluence, and/or Slack SAFe Scrum Master & SAFe for Teams, SAFe PO/PM or SAFe Advanced Scrum Master & SAFe for Government, SAFe PO/PM

Clearance Required : Ability to obtain and maintain a Suitability/Public Trust Clearance

Posted Pay Range

The posted pay range, if referenced, reflects the range expected for this position at the commencement of employment, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and internal equity. The total compensation package for this position may also include other compensation elements, to be discussed during the hiring process. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the GovCIO reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, GovCIO or individual department/team performance, and market factors.

Posted Salary Range

USD $120,000.00 - USD $140,000.00 /Yr.
