Summary:

The Financial Accounting and Reporting Manager is responsible for handling all areas of the general ledger including ongoing accounting entries; monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities; and support for internal and external reporting requirements. The Accounting Manager will mentor the accounting team ensuring accurate and timely financial statements in compliance with US GAAP.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate general ledger and prepare reconciliations as part of the month-end close process

  • Assist with the preparation of the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close and consolidation

  • Support organizational financial reporting

  • Create and maintain dashboards for standard financial information coordinating with operating and finance groups

  • Prepare the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close and consolidation

  • Perform variance analysis for the statement of operations and the balance sheet.

  • Assist with the design and implementation of key finance systems, close efficiency, and audit readiness.

  • Support the development of a SOX Program. Prepare documentation in accordance with SOX standards.

  • Effectively use technology to coordinate the management of financial data and definitions to enable improved transparency and understanding of results and business trends

  • Prepare operational analysis and reporting on a recurring and ad hoc basis

  • Assist with developing and implementing accounting policies and procedures

  • Evaluate the adequacy of steps taken by the accounting team to manage and remediate internal control deficiencies

  • Support the documentation and maintenance requirements for the Company’s accounting policies which include the adoption of new accounting standards and policies as disclosed in its financial statements and retained in the accounting files

  • Partner with other members of the accounting team to implement new accounting standards, changes in accounting policies or to operationalize the accounting for new transactions

Required Education and Experience:

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting plus five years of related experience

  • Experience with the maintenance and operation of general ledger software

  • Experience with report-writing software

Preferred:

  • CPA certification or CPA eligibility

  • Public Accounting

  • Healthcare experience

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong understanding of US GAAP accounting principles and procedures

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel including the use of pivot tables, v-lookups, macros, as if functions, etc.

  • Strong time management and prioritization skills

  • Able to maintain confidentiality and use discretion when privy to sensitive information

  • Strong teamwork skills and the ability to manage one's own individual projects

  • Present oneself in a professional manner and the ability to interact with all levels of the organization and outside contacts

Physical Requirements

  • This job operates in a professional setting. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit or stand for extended periods of time. Normal manual dexterity is required.

  • Normal speaking and hearing abilities to interact with others in an office environment, over telephone or other video conferencing platform.

  • The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; and reach with hands and arms and continuously repeat the same hand, arm finger motion many times as in typing.
